News: The F or A keys are now no longer of importance. You asked for it, so I figured out how to make the player fire in the direction the player is facing. Be warned, the game is now harder, as you cannot shoot in two directions at once. Click on the link in this post.

News: All of World 2 is now available, and a couple of the requested digibutter cameos are in the game. If you want to have a cameo, please let me know, and provide the image that you want to be portrayed as. Be warned, though- you could appear anywhere or at any time in the game, even in weird events, and the importance of your role may vary depending on the convenience of the situation.

Also, so you know, the file size is sorta big.

Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, the Grodus Chronicles reached the peak of its popularity. So, in order to make more money off of merchandising, the minds behind the Starship X-Naut multimedia franchise decided to make another Starship X-Naut television sub-series, known as "The Lord Crump Chronicles." It became relatively popular among Starship X-Naut fanatics and sci-fi nerrs, and here we have the game based on the movie based on the series. Created with Game Maker, I present to you the current unfinished version of:

Starship X-Naut- Lord Crump's Adventure:
THE MOVIE-
The Game
An X-Naut Games production.

Most recent version

Controls:

Directional Keys- left, right, up (Jump.)
Space- Basic attack. Cannot go through walls, but they won't be destroyed when passing through certain enemies. Cannot harm certain enemies.
M- Missile attack. They destroy on contact with an enemy, but they can move through walls, and certain enemies may only be destroyed by them. The effect that they have on bosses will vary.
B- Bubble Block, once you obtain it. It will block a single attack, and can only be used once per level.
Numerical Keys- Summons, once you obtain them. They can only be used once per level.

Items/Powerups:

Mushroom- Gives you an extra life. Except for bosses, there's at least one in every level.
Missile Pack- Gives you an extra missile. (Note: You can only hold one missile at a time, so use your first one before picking a missile pack up.)
Health Pack- Allows you to take three projectile hits.
Poison Shroom- Avoid at all costs.

This fan game, made with Game Maker, will recieve continuing updates. If you have any suggestions or notice any bugs, speak up. Buh! Buh! Buh huh huh!

Credits/Thanks:

Thank you Plastic Mario for giving me your gmk file to fix up a bunch of stuff.
Thanks to whoever made this youtube video.

Music:

Theme of Tara- Metal Gear

Save Room- Metroid Prime

Magnus von Grapple's Theme- Paper Mario 2

Doopliss's Theme- Paper Mario 2

Bowser Boss- Galaxy

Forest Music- Blizzard

FFVII Boss/Final Fantasy Victory Theme/Moogles/KHII Boss/Forest Music- Square Enix

All used characters belong to their respective owners; this is merely a simple, not-for-profit fan game.

Note: If you fall through an invisible hole in the ground, chances are, I put that there purposely. Just move and jump until you get out of the hole; it's always possible to get out the way you came in.

There should be a "Set Health" command in one of the tabs. Make the player have that on Game Start, with the amount of health you want, and collision with a projectile makes it -1 relative.

And projectiles should be seperate objects. Have them moving a direction on create. To make enemies shoot them, there are commands for that. I usually use Test Chance, under the Control tab. It brings up a random chance to do something, like rolling a die. You can put in how many sides you want it to have. And... By default, it happens 30 times a second.

Collision with a door and "Next Room" should work for going to to the next room.

I think that's all I know about the things you posted. Good luck making your game.

I figured out how to make the player shoot, with the "f" key. However, there's a little... problem with the robotic goombas, as you can see. And, I tried with the chance thing, but the enemies have a tendency to only shoot once; I must have missed something. And I still can't figure out how to make the player jump using the space key. : (

There's a platformer tutorial on the Game Maker site. That should help. :U

I'll download the game in a moment...

New version is out. It's better than before, containing a new level, and moving enemies and items. Still can't get enemy shooting down, though.

If i'm correct, on D&D, make them create an object next to them and make the object move in the direction you want it to move in.

After several test runs, I realized that World 1 currently, well, wasn't very fun. In this update, various additions have been made, including the ability to fire in both directions (Space to fire to the right, A to the left.) You can now view the score, health, and lives in the caption; you may need to pay attention to that. Feel free to comment, make suggestions, and post your high scores; oh, and one more thing. World 2-1 isn't complete, so you won't be able to finish it, and you may notice some strange things about it.

You know, I understand that this may be your first game, but why can I only shoot in one direction? That's ridiculous!

I made it so that you can shoot two ways; one with "A", and one with "space."

Number one, I pressed A, and nothing happened...And number two, that system doesn't work too well. I advise making Crump be able to face in two directions based on his movement and have only one button to shoot in the direction he is facing.

The game has been updated. Half of World 2 is playable (Which is four more levels and a town), and two of the requested digibutter member cameos are in the game. Continue to make suggestions and comments, and if you want to be in it, say so, and provide the image that you want to be portrayed as.

A while since an update... but I revived the game, and added new levels, a new boss, and new features. Post any suggestions, comments, or criticisms.
