Especially if you are the one using it.
I mean, sheesh. Up until MKDD the Blue Shell used to slide on the ground and crash in people in the way, until it crashed in 4 people or found the first placer. I admit that it was weak against jumps, but come on... If you're last placer, you'd want an item to help you gain a better position, not an item that makes the first placer get 4th. |

occaisonaly when I'm 4th-2nd, I get a blue shell and it helps me a lot :3

You guys don't like Blue Shells because you are big gamers.
They are there to even to race bewteen the people that are close to the lead. In last place you can also get items that can be useful to you, such as Bullet Bills and Stars.

They are very useless but if your in first and have a mushroom you can avoid it. Just when its about to hit you it smacks into the ground so use the shroom right when it hits to boost out of the way.^_^ |

I'vee also heard that the mushroom that makes you bigger (Forget the name) also works against it, but I'm not sure. In any case, you won't get any of those items in first. |

Giving lesser players a chance is what makes Mario Kart Wii a lot exceptional and much different from race games like Need For Speed where a lesse rplayer has little to no chance.
It's not like you don't deserve to win flat-out, but just because someone doesn't spend their time analysing the game in-depth like we do, doesn't mean they deserve to be crowned last place every race, right? Face it, an equilibrated race is much more fun, even if it takes bigger players' chances down. Face it, a funner game is better than one where it's easy to win.
Also, I guess I found an use for Blue Shells towards the user. It usually twists things up and makes the leading racers closer to each other, making the chance of a comeback grow wider. |
