(I know this have been suggested before, so please dont' say already suggested) ><;

I think the introduction forum should be only for new member's introuduction. Why? Well first, I see more "Goodbyes/BRB" then "HI I'M DAISY NEW!" And what happens? People posts in the goodbyes saying I'll miss you (because its a member we all know and love and we just HAVE to say goodbye) and overlooks the actual introudction topic made by new members, someone we don't know yet.

So I think everytime someone is leaving or going on vacation, it should be posted in Blogs. I mean, thats why we have Blogs right?
And now off to my nap. Hiss.

EDIT: To clear things up, I'm not getting sick of the goodbye/I'll be gone for a few days threads. Oh no, I would miss you guys if you had to leave for a while. I'm just saying we should do the new members a favor by having their intro post more easy to see when we click the Introduction forum.

Like I've said before, we should have a Stickied Returning/Leaving topic in Introductions. Also, you can't say "goodbye" or "welcome back" in this thread, it is strictly for saying you are returning/Leaving. If you want to say goodbye/welcome back, post in their blog thread or PM them.

This is a good idea too....but i think people should be allowed to say goodbye in that sticked thread.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that more members look in the I/G/IB forum more than the Blogs forum. When people are leaving they want people to read, so it seems to me that limiting leaving/returning posts to blogs would not seem effective.

Not that I have a better suggestion, though. I'm just voicing my thoughts.

But that's the problem. Leaving topics usually stir drama, and aren't worth it anyway since said members usually end up back in less than 2 months.

I agree with the idea greatly. I barely check I/G/IB anymore because of the leaving members that end up back anyway.

exactly, the purpose of this idea is to have more people check the blog and only go to intro forums whenever a newbie joins.

Maybe Francis can make a forum for goodbyes and then one for intros so we can still say hello to new members and goodbye to leaving ones?

err i don't know if thats a good idea. either it will be filled with lotsa drama or it will be overused/not used a lot.
I think keeping it in Blog is fine.

So if someone hasn't been to digibutter in months, they post it in their blog? And if they leave indefinitely, it's hidden away? Some people like to keep their message clear. This idea definitely has some potential, though. Maybe if you leave/come back for/after a little while, you post it in your blog, but when you're dealing with a lot of time off digibutter.nerr, you post it in IGIB?

Only in the sense that blogs currently have another purpose than saying we're leaving. But things can change, you never know.

Blogs are for talking about what's going on in your life currently, like a journal. I think vacation could fit in there. I would use it if I was ever to leave for a while.

You're right. I should have phrased it differently.

bump lol
m'kay, its kind getting out of hand. The whole Introduction forum is filled with I'm back topics.
Its not really bothering me, but I feel that it will bother the new members, when they do make their introduction topic.
