I don't think we should make them. I think that Digibutter would slowly come to revolve around them, become a competitive forum, and a lot of people would leave, due to their clan losing, no one they like in their clan, not being able to play other people's games or such, and that it would just cause a whole lot of drama overall. |

It'd actually make activity skyrocket and make friendly competition between users.
We've had Usergroups in the past, and while they were active they made the site way better and awesomer. |

Clan discussion would remain in the clans, so there wouldn't be increased drama, elsewhere. GD, Gaming, Digital Butterflies, Media, and all of the other nice forums we have would go unaffected. In terms of clans "losing", that would be no reason to leave a site (Unless one has an unusual tendency to take things way too seriously.). If anything, clans would probably help the site and make it a bit more interesting, attracting more members (And giving the site a better chance of keeping those members that do join.) Here's a good example of a site where the clan system works perfectly; if other sites can make them work, digibutter can make them work, and put its own unique spin on the "clan" idea, as well. |
