According to researchers, it's better to be on the red team than on the blue team.
Quote:
As is the case with most team-based online shooting games, players of Unreal Tournament can choose to be on either the red team or the blue team, and their avatars wear those colors. But that choice is not as neutral as it seems: 55 percent of the time, the red team won, according to the study published this week in the journal Cyberpsychology & Behavior.
...
Another study found in 2005 that wearing red is an advantage in real-life sports. British scientists found that athletes wearing red in one-on-one events like wrestling at the 2004 Olympics were more likely to win.

What do you think? Does the red team have an advantage in Mario Kart? And where do teams Green and Yellow fit in the food chain?

Does it really matter what color you're wearing? Maybe the red guys were a little more skilled.

I'm pretty sure the teams were repeatedly randomized.

inb4happyhappy-color--color-

I think it's because red may trigger a sort of adrenalin boost in the contestants.

But this is , overall, utter bullcrap if you ask me.

Actually that is only relative to games where each side is doing the same thing.

In TF2 it is actually the Blue team that has the advantage on most maps aside from neutral CP and CTF.

In Halo though I also disagree. Pink Elites own everything.

If you ask me it's because in a lot of games, red is the first team listed between it and blue. It's the same concept as Pokemon games. More people will go for the first in the set, like Red, Gold, Ruby, and Diamond. Since more people pick it, it will have more of a chance to have good players.

As for the research, even if randomized, there could have been more instances of better players on the red team.

Uh...but isn't it true that people wearing red into battle die first?

No. That's all bull. The Blue Team wins plenty of times for me. USUALLY, not always, though, the Blue Team wins in MKWii. (for me, no matter what team I'm on.)

The red guys probably felt like they were better when wearing red and their brains gave them a boost.
