Well, really, just look around...as you probably already know, there's been a lot of drama...I know this has been said many times before, but people need to stop being so open with their problems here. Just because you had a bad day doesn't mean you need to come here and mess everything up. If you really need to express your feelings, go to the blogs or PM a friend about it. There's no use in getting in a fight about it and making everyone else unhappy. We also don't have enough mods....but there's not much we can do about that, except for hoping that Francis is going to fix this...I've also noticed that the older members aren't very welcoming to the new members...they always look for something 'noobish' about them to flame them for and scare them away. I think if this site was a bit more welcoming and kind to new members, we might not have as many problems when a new member joins... ...there may be more problems that I'm not aware of, but...I really want to help this forum and keep it alive. I'd hate to see it fall apart because of all the drama...but I can't do this alone. I need your help...if we all work together, I'm sure we can find a solution and stay together happily. ...also, please don't turn this topic into a flame war..that really wouldn't help... |

Every forum I go to there's drama and people saying it's falling apart. Honestly, I think everything here is running smoothly. The drama is just a part of everything. |

Although such things do not affect me at all, I will point out that the situation is better than it was a few weeks ago. Regardless, you are correct in that there are a few problems. However, I think that these problems will start to lose their intensity very soon. A few things are bound to change soon, as well. Also, Francis has mentioned making an announcement regarding the moderation situation here. The third post is what I am referring to.
I think that with a few changes in store, not to mention the looming presence of 2.0 in the distance, Digibutter has a bright future. Overall, try to remain positive and pay undesirable and pointless emotional drama no heed. |

I agree with you - and everyone else who thinks this - completely.
But, the irony of this entire situation is that there have probably been OVER 9000 topics like this, and yet there's still no change. Not much noticable change, anyway. OT's still a pile of spam. RPOT isn't all that. And yet, it's those two forums that are basically taking half of Digi, and eating it. We realise all these problems, we want to help out, yet all we do is complain. And then, we turn around, and add more drama, spam, and flame.
And we have now all got ourselves thinking that the great Francis can fix it. Of course, he can't do it alone. |

Well, I'm willing to actually do something. I'm not going to sit around and complain. But just like Francis, I can't do it alone. I can't change the whole site myself. I need everyone else's help. Digibutter is going to decide it's own fate, not one member of the forum. |

I think a major step to solving our problems is for people to get over their differences. But that's not easy, and it's not something I can make people do. It's their life. I know I'm not best know for getting along with certain people, but I HAVE gotten along with some of these people. It's not that hard, and people should realize that they feel better when all is said and done. In turn other people will start feeling better and the community will start looking toward an upward slope.
Mods wont solve very much as for drama. Yeah, they filter out the spam and stuff, but it's kind of hard to stop people's feelings. |

As I've said before, some members expect this place here to be bliss, specially if they had a bad day. But guess what, digibutter.nerr is not perfect, so these people end up getting angry at small things.
That's one good factor. |

We can't stop members' feelings. But we do have a section in The Rules regarding Drama. When I came back recently and saw what had unfolded, I was a little disappointed that nobody dealt with the situation as the Rules outlined. I am also definitely disappointed in the failure for some of us to simply set aside our differences and work together to make this a great Digibutter. The members make the forum, after all. |

This is true.
Ya know even little complaints like this one really just contribute to the problem, The Anti-drama in turn creates drama. To reiterate Complaining about the problem instead of actually doing something to solve the problem actually makes it worse.
My stance on Emotion and Drama in life is simple, Keep to yourself generally. If theres any legitimate complaints (I mean like someone harassing you) Alert the Authority's Don't Make a Scene, or start a flamewar Ect. Ect. Same goes for IRL as for Online, Don't make a fool of yourself.
As for the people who are spreading Drama ( In the Public eye, not your private issues) You could alert them to Take it to Blogs, or PM's Or give the touchy people some distance. Simple No?
Generaly we come from the same area, its just I don't voice my opinion on the issue often because I don't really think it merits it, Let those who are Dramatic fall to deaf ears. Really The people themselves need to know how to Ignore as well.

I have to agree, the forum doesn't cause drama, the members bring drama from their IRL problems, or sometimes online problems. Only some members are falling apart. The rest are being sucked towards the drama, which annoys a lot of people. By the way, drama is against the rules, I wonder why they haven't been deleted yet?
Rules wrote: | Drama
Drama is categorized by open, continued, and extreme expression of grief/sorrow/depression. Although light emotional discussion is allowed, to an extent, deep, open threads giving out information about wanting to commit suicide and/or hatred towards others is not allowed. If you must express your deep, personal issues on the site, do so in private messages to people on the site who are close to you, rather than bringing personal issues in front of the whole forum. You may also use Bloggnerr to express your less extreme feelings.
Punishment:
"Drama" threads, like detailed above, are not allowed, and will be deleted. If one resorts to flaming or continues to violate the rules after being warned, he/she will recieve a strike. |
