Let's discuss the latest in the beloved Final Fantasy series.
In my opinion, FFXII was excellent for an RPG, but I never found it excellent as a Final Fantasy title. Far from the worst FF, but some of the characters weren't very developed, in my opinion; the game would have been essentially the same with only Balthier, Ashe, and maybe Basche. It was still a great game, but I expect FFXIII to be better. Alright, so, what about you?

I LOVE YOU FOR THIS TOPIC xD
ahem...as you already know if you haven't already, FFXII is my favorite Final Fantasy in the series, and will be my number 1 favorite forever.(2nd would be FFVII)
Anyways, the reason I love it is because.
1. I really love the storyline, its something...different for once, unlike bad guy tries to take over and only the hero can save us.
2. The main character isn't the only one who can stop the bad guy (The emperor I believe) Ashe and Balthier is also the "main" character. Ashe is the princess and main female protagonist while Balthier claims to be the "leading man" I just...love the direction this FF took.
3. I love the setting, its really pretty. It reminds me of Star Wars a lot for some reason, and I love it. Plus according to one of the director, the atmosphere in the setting is supposed to be humid, explaining the revealing clothings...
4. I love the character. Vaan, the ordinary main hume of the game who becomes the leading man by Balthier later in the storyline. Balthier is a cool character with a cute sense of humor. Penelo is like the equivalent to Tifa IMO. Ashe is just amazing, Fran is a unique character, and I like the idea of a traitor joining you (Basch) And that one person who betrays your party...I also like the way his character developed halfway through the storyline.
5. Beautiful Ending.
Yes with only Balthier and Ashe, it could've been the same, but I just love Vaan, Penelo, Basch, and Fran's character. They also have some unique role in the story (Maybe except Penelo...)

Partially because of you, and partially because I found the disc for the game. : )
Now, all I have to do is find my memory card so I can beat Zodiark... |

Also I said this before but this game's setting is a lot like Star Wars. I mean, monsters working in a shopping town. I also think the characters are like Star Wars. Vaan is like Luke, Balthier is like Han, Fran is like Princess Lea, and etc.
But enough about characters, I love them too much xD
About the storyline, I just find it more interesting than the other Final Fantasies.
Also, the battle system just happens to be my favorite mechanics, what do you guys think of the battle mechanics? The random encounters just happen to annoy me sometimes and is time consuming, however now its much easier to battle. |

Heh. I was bored this morning, so I pull out my lvl 45 Knight of the Round file and go to Gilgamesh (form II) in the Lhusu Mines. I got owned. BADLY. |
