Again, I'm not going to report anyone for saying Ike is overpowered if they are constructive about it. But bashing is flamebait and flaming Ike users is bad. Not to mention some sorts of comment can be considered SPAM for lack of constructivity. Additionally, wouldn't it be nice for our discussion to mention other opinions on the character besides his cheapness?

Equally, I won't hesitate in reporting people who flame people who call Ike overpowered, and things of the sort.

So, let's delve into the questions. Did you prefer Roy or Ike, both talking about abilities and just the overall character? What are Ike's advantages and downsides? And for the SSE question, do you think it was a big or a shitty role, as Ike didn't appear that much, yet he was the first one to mess with the Ancient Minister, and the only to use a Final Smash (Though it looked nothing like the one he does during Brawls)?

I respect Ike because of Fire Emblem 9. Fire Emblem 10...I'm not going to even go there. That was Micky's game (Micaiah, for the not FE-saavy).

Ike's very powerful, but he isn't OVERPOWERED. Let's take a look at him against the other characters:

Mario: Cape is quick enough to change the direction of almost all Ike's attacks.
DK: Has a greater range than Ike (YES HE DOES! I'VE OUTRANGED MANY AN IKE!)
Link: Has projectiles with higher priority than Ike's attacks.
Toon Link: See Link
Samus/ZSS: Have a lot of "stun" moves
Pikachu: See Samus/ZSS
Yoshi: Has...eggs. Not well-suited in fighting Ike, but can 1-up him in the air.
Ness: PK attacks can keep Ike at bay
Lucas: Even more PK attacks that can keep Ike at bay
Captain Falcon: Tricky, but speed should be able to stop Ike
Starfox Characters: Blasters/Reflectors stun, plus tons of combos that can keep Ike away.
Marth: Counter. 'Nuff said.
Lucario: Double Team + Aura = Ike Killer
King Dedede: Better range than Ike (Side A gimper), annoying projectile
Meta Knight: Multiple moves that can can get through Ike's defenses.
Weegee: It's-a Weegee! Green Missile can somewhat get through, and...if you're using Weegee well, Ike's cheapness shouldn't be a factor
Diddy Kong: Banana peels. Yeah.
Bowser: Fire Breath. Yeah.
Wario: Wario Bike has higher priority than most of Ike's moves, and Wario's other wacky moves are enough to finish off the swordsman.
Zelda/Sheik: Fiya balls, yum! Plus needles, speed, reflection moves. etc.
Ganondorf: Flame choke and Wizard Kick do really well.
Olimar: Pikmin aren't that strong, unfortunately. I suppose he isn't best
Pokemon Trainer: Charizard's Rock Smash, Squirtle's water moves with huge range, Ivysaur's...vines. It's a Triple Threat of Ike-killing.
Jigglypuff: SSG and Tyler. That's all you need to know
Mr. Game & Watch: His Aerial moves render Ike totally disoriented.
Snake: ...snake? SNAKE?! SNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKEEEEEEEEE!!! Ike=dead
Sonic: Speed. That's it.

I think I got a lot of the characters in there. The point is, Ike's only cheap because he is the new "Big N' Heavy" character. DK got a lotta hate in SSB, Ganondorf got a lot of hate in SSBM, and now it's Ikey-kin's turn.

Ike's just as good as any other character. A n00b can use him effectively against an intermediate player, true, but Ike doesn't get much better from beginner level to intermediate. Of course, all playing at expert level are great with their characters, and Ike's no different.

I liked his SSE rendition, very much like his FE9 character. He was just an excited young mercenary ready to take on the giant robot monkey-transformer-thing. And his Aether, almost directly taken from FE9, was awesome.

The biggest problem is how people justify Ike's cheapness. He KOs at 33%? That's rather vague, we should take into account the attack used and the weight of the victim. His fully charged S-Smash/Eruption are supposed to be low-damage KOs, with the ridiculous amout of startup lag. Spamming Quick Draw makes up for Ike's speed? It only makes it worse: Hence, it not only makes him predictable, but let's not forget, AGAIN, about the startup lag.

You don't even need to be a Jigglypuff master like SSG and Tyler, just using the B-Side well and such should be enough because of the flinching capacities. Additionally, Olimar has a nice range, too.

Ike is VERY POWERFUL, but almost overpowered.

When my brother wanted to brawl against me, I used Ike, and he used Link. The End results? He was sitting there cursing under his breath as I said, "You never should've faced me. I am AWESOME!"

But really, the only one who should be over powered is, Pi--*shot by Pit lovers*.

All in all, Ike is a very useful character, and he weilds a Two-handed sword with one hand.
