I got my GI magazine today and this is what it said:
Game Informer Magazine #183 wrote:
Texas-based Anascape has won a $21 million decision in a lawsuit against Nintendo. A jury found that Nintendo has infringed upon Anascape patents in the design of teh Wii Classic, Wavebird wireless (shown), and GameCube controllers. Nintendo says it plans to appeal the ruling, and expects to have the decision reduced. Anascape also sued Microsoft, with which it reached an out-of-court settlement.

Texas based companies like to have more money, by all means necessary. Even if it means suing the big N.

That's pretty far for some processed paper you can't do anything with.

1. Think of a process, the more obvious the better.
2. Patent it.
3. Wait about 10 years and do nothing with the idea.
4. Hire the best lawyers you can afford.
5. Sue everyone who implemented your obvious idea.
6. Profit!!!

I hate companies that only exist to sit on patents, waiting for a day to strike.

It isn't like that isn't pocket change for most major companies. Laughing
