Anyone who's played Lost Planet knows what I'm about to go on about.

So here's my problem: nothing makes sense. I mean sure, the actual gameplay and physics systems are genius... but the story is utterly terrible!

So you start off the game as this asian guy. There's really no explanation at all as to who you are or why the hell you're even there except for the fact that you're trying to colonize the planet. You just kinda show up in this stupid little dome and start swinging around and grappling on to crap.

Well all goes well, and you roam through this building for a while, then suddenly a big fat alien monster called the Green-Eye attacks you. It's basically this giant, room-sized worm alien, and you have to run like hell in order to get to this random area full of Mechs. So you and your group of retards and your dad all get in a mech and fight this thing.

Well everyone fails. Your dad is crushed and killed, and you get knocked against a wall, cornered, unconscious, with no way out of the damn building.

Then suddenly it goes black and goes to a cutscene of you walking through the snow in your mech, despite the fact that seconds before you were trapped, cornered, and unconscious. Your character ends up failing at life, and gets knocked unconscious again, this time from the cold... then later a bunch of snowpirates rescue you.

So all is well and good. You wake up, and there's a big machine pumping heat into your arm, and the retard standing over you says "this arm of yours is our little secret."

Jolly good.

Well you continue on. The pirates send you off to kill an alien hive, because they don't do shit. All is well for a while, then suddenly you start having flashbacks. In one, your dad dies in front of a group of people, and he's screaming "WHY DID YOU BETRAY US, SOLATOV!?"

In another flashback, he tells you with his dying breath that "you are our only hope," and then smears the screen with blood.

And he dies at least one more time after all this crap, too.

So at this point your dad has died thrice, and one of the times you weren't even there, and the other time your dad gave you AIDS by covering your face with blood.

Then you encounter another retard with a fancy arm, and I can't even describe this arm besides saying it's a generic "super-dee-duper-made-of-metal" arm. Then suddenly you have a flashback where this other guy with the fancy arm kills your dad.

This is as far into the story I got... but really. Your dad dies at least 5 times in the game, and three of the times you're not even there. There are more loopholes here than Metal Gear Solid.
