Muahahahahaha. Our subject today is an evil deity from the Gerudo tribe.
On to the questions. As every veteran did, Ganondorf was buffed; where can you see his improvements? Disregarding the Falcon clone, did you prefer Flame Choke or Gerudo Dragon? As Ganondorf has drastically changed his lookout, do you like the new appearance? Do you believe he really should USE THE SWORD DAMMIT? Do you think he's worth his position, or not really? |

Ganondorf is one of my favorite characters. I love his moveset, even though it's really slow. His smashes are EXTREMELY powerful. Also, using the sword would have been a nice touch, but I still like him the way he is. |

Ganondorf is considered to be the worst character in Brawl, but thats because not many pros use him, so he's low on the Japanese tiers right now. In fact, the last one. lol. He's really good if used right, and useful in team matches. |

I'm all about the big n' beefy characters, so Ganondorf's always had a reserved spot on my roster.
I can't seem to use him right, though; probably because he requires you to plan a second or two ahead when you use his moves.
His flame choke is better in some ways, worse in others, than the Gerudo Dragon. On the one hand, I like the fact that he doesn't stumble if he misses (admittedly, it is kinda cheap); on the other hand, though, I kinda miss being able to send my opponents skyward if it connects.
I guess my only real complaint is how they changed his Up-Smash. Tornado kick was a LOT better than this single high-kick he has now. Tornado Kick was THE most powerful move in Melee (Doing 53% damage if both hits connected just right!), and it's a shame they took it away.
As for him using the Sword, my opinion is "Meh." Yeah, it's cool and all, but I just can't see it fitting his style. The TRIDENT, however, would match perfectly with him. |

I'll be glad to do tomorrow's discussion.
Ganondorf has been buffed since last game. His Warlock punch can knock foes away from the platform if hit. And if they're going to put his sword in there, let the *crag* use it, dammit. |

He can't jump or run any good, making him auto-fail for me. |

I just wonder what happened to that stab mark on stomach. But the good thing is his strong up attack. |

Ganondorf is one of my better character in Brawl.
He may not be efficient in duels, but he packs quite a punch on three-way matches.
If timed just right, the Warlock punch could hit a target who thinks it has enough time to hit him before the attack unleashes. This gives me satisfaction when it does that.
Flame Choke and Wizard Kick are less powerful than the rest of his attacks, but they sure are effective when you are being flawlessly picked on.
His areal attacks are also mildly excellent. His Up Areal have an excellent speed for its power, and his neutral is also more useful than one could think.
I had no problem taking out Sonic users with Ganondorf. In fact, when it comes to close combat, Ganondorf is one of the best considering his power. When it comes to range though, Ganondorf will be easily damaged over and over without having time to do anything. To me, Pikachu is the ultimate threat to Ganondorf, because Pikachu seemingly have a higher attack priority.
His great advantage is having the power to KO anyone rapidly, thought this require a bit of timing. His second advantage is that he isn't sent flying too easily. His third advantage is his dominance on the ground. His fourth advantage would be having one vertical and horizontal recovery move, as well as Wizard Kick can be used from the ground to cross a gap.
His first disadvantage is his lacking or speed and agility. His second disadvantage is the lack of jumping and recovery range. His third disadvantage is a total lack of range. His fourth disadvantage is the seeming inaccuracy in his smashes. |
