Why I left. Honestly I diddn't know. Now i do. Hint. It's the same reason why Thudleyman545 left after 538 posts. Notice. How you treat the people with many posts and the mods and the popular. What you do. What you do for them, you make for them. Now, what about Thudleyman538. What would you do for him? I thought so. What is the diffrence. We need to see, there is levels. Each level people are in are by post levels. Say there are three. 1, thudleyman538, 2; Me, and 3; the popular people. We act as if there is only level 3. What made me rilize this? x mas. Look at presants plastic mario had vs I had. I got 1 present. the secret santa one. Untill. I then Gave tons of presents to the low life people. I gave three to zatch_bell. Later I had, 10 presents. I think it's now clear the problem causing this. If you kick a puppy, he won't want to play. The most important thing to do is give reginition to the people. But not the new ones. Most importantly, the ones like me. We get the least attrention. People only care about people who just joined or are famous.Treat people with care that don't have over 10,000 posts. But over 1,200 or 3,000 or 4,760 or 700 or 6,100 those are the people in need. This is why we are losing level 2 posters. It's time. |

M'aiq does nothing for anyone, unless they are his good friend. >_>
And even then, he only does things for his friends occasionally when he's asked, or just feels like it. It really depends on how he's feeling at the moment on an emotional level. |

Wait wait wait wait, just one minute, okay?
While all of the ideals expressed in this topic is true, I'm afraid of how members could take this. As seen before, digibutter takes things from radical extreme to another radical extreme. So now, we're probably going to "ignore" the once "popular" members, causing two groups and more separation. I'm not saying that it's impossible only good will come out of this, but being here since less than a week from the beginning, I think that's the most likely outcome.
Should we encourage playing along with our new members? Yes. But not at the cost of ignoring our old ones.
Now, SSG, I know that you just stated to "treat everyone equally", which is true and necessary. Unfortunately, the mass populace of digibutter is going to "lolnoobget. lolnewfriend. lolpopular ignorance.", and take this topic as a rally for that.
So I...really don't know if this CAN work. I'd suggest getting a few select members to introduce each new member to the site, be their friends, sort of like a greeting group, instead of getting everyone gung-ho about helping the new peoples and ignoring the older members of digibutter. Because then a couple people will stay and the whole project will crash and burn. And this is a project I'd REALLY hate to see fall. ;n; |

Yes. I completely agree. We have far too many ignored users. It's sickening. And everyone's wondering why Digibutter is going down the tubes? |

I think that there could be some change in this issue....the kind of "everyone knows everbody and everyone are friends except for the few who utterly hate each other" with some effort. But, alas, there is a cycle and we'd end up back here again. |

Mm. Ignorance. Tolerance. It's two different ends of the spectrum, sir, and it's driving me insane. Different levels are used on different occasions, and I think grammar has something to do with it. This is why i've developed this terrible little habbit, sirs and madams: I check every word that's over 5 letters long. I believe I developed it, you see, because I felt I was not, excuse my emotion, getting enough attention. Humans... Shy Guys in my case, and some others...have a want for attention, somewhere. Sure, you could entirely bury it under other emotions, but it's there. And sometimes, yes, I still feel that way.
Everyone does. Take the random outbursts of (Rpotters, you know what i'm talking about.), "I quit. I don't think i'm any good, you people clearly don't think i'm any good, so i'll just leave." This is human emotion. Unavoidable, it'll always come back to you if you try to hide it, and being human is what the problem is. We're human. We must fix that, because it's destroying us.
No. That's not how it works.
This is how it works: Everything dies. Everything eventually rots, turns to ashes, and the like. The Pheonix dies, it burns up, and a new one is born out of the charred remains. Some of you know where i'm going with this.
Anyway. Back to the topic. We ignore because the human mind, as I see it, sees our social level to be important. The brain says to itself, "No, we mustn't associate with them. They're lower down the scale. We must keep our status high." I confess, yes, even the General does this. Must we try to get past it? Yes. Will we overcome it, to the point that it will never bother us again? No. However, that would be rather rude to not try, eh?
For those who read through my text wall, thank you. Please discuss my insanity. I'm not editing this post; i'm not spellchecking this post. Talk about it as you see fit, please. Rude, mean, and negative comments are welcomed, as are the positive ones. |
