Don't bother buying Halo 3. It can be good with some friends, but it's not worth the $60. Shadowrun, however, is less than a third of the price and at least 3 times better. Also, add TooManyToasters.
EDIT: oh yeah, and buy Psychonauts. It costs 1200 points whereas most arcade games cost 800.

I already have Psychonauts for the regular Xbox.

Can anyone explain to me the details of the wired connection for the 360? The adapter'll be my biggest expense other than the system itself. Can it be plugged directly into the wall, or does it have to be connected to a PC?

The Xbox can be plugged straight into your internet source (probably a router). You do not connect it to your PC.

I don't wanna wait until the 6th. D: Besides, a used will be the same, $200. Hopefully the warranty will be enough.

Also, I've been informed by my dad that he's set up the house electrical wiring to carry the internet connection, so I won't be needing the wireless adapter. That takes $100 off my expenses. I'll probably buy an HDMI cable, $50. New grand total is $390, $60 surplus.

Whatever you do, do not pay $50 for an HDMI cable.
Try $4:

Really, $4? Brings it down to $341 then. I'm spending a lot less than I thought I would.
