I don't know if I can really call it a haul, since it's only two items... Since Toys'R'Us is stocking Transformers Animated toys before anyone else, (except WalMart, but y'know... WalMart.) I went there today and got some. Unfortunately, they were out of Grimlocks, but I still got...
 Lockdown and Bumblebee!
Bumblebee is a yellow car, as usual...
And Lockdown is a DEATH CAR WITH PINK WINDOWS. (They look more red in this photo, though.)
I've heard that a lot of people don't like Bumblebee, because his robot mode isn't as show-accurate as the other Animated toys... but it doesn't bother me because I think he's adorable.
LOCKDOWN IS REALLY TALL. He's a deluxe class, but he's the second-tallest figure in the entire Animated line, beaten only by leader-class Megatron, who still isn't THAT much taller than him.
While I think both the toys are great, they're not without their flaws...
Bumblebee has these stinger things on his hands, that are supposed to fold down into his arms when not in use. But they don't quite fit, and stick out at a weird angle. And if you try to push them in any further, they'll break off.
However, it's not hard to fix. Using a pocket knife, I whittled away some of the blue plastic.
 And now they fit!
Lockdown has a similar problem with his hands. There's a piece of plastic inside his arm that prevents his hands from coming out all the way, so he has this limp-wristed look.
But like Bumblebee, this problem can be easily fixed by cutting the plastic (which you might actually be able to see if I had a decent camera) away with a knife.
Fixed! As far as I know, Bumblebee and Lockdown are the only TFA toys that have this problem.
Bumblebee is relatively large for a deluxe-class figure, but he's still tiny compared to Lockdown.
I can hardly wait till I can get my hands on Grimlock and Blitzwing. I'll probably pick up Ratchet when I get the chance, too. |
