So now that we have news of a new NES MegaMan game coming to WiiWare, this got me thinking about other classic games that deserve a sequel. What classic games do you hope get a new sequel some day?
I would LOVE to see: NES - Super Mario Bros. 4 - OMG Racoon Mario returns! NES - Metal Gear 2 - now with 30 minute 8-bit cut scenes! SNES - Legend of Zelda - sequel (Every Nintendo console except for SNES has gotten a Zelda sequel) SNES - Super Metroid II - sequel to Metriod Fusion actually N64 - Super Smash Bros 2 - same gameplay but more stages and characters... and online play. N64 - Finish the incomplete SNES Starfox 2 and make StarFox 64 2 with online co-op.

Super Mario World 3: Pretty much a SMW hack. >_> Super Mario Bros 2.5: A sequel to the American Mario bro's 2 but with the same style.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4
Oh and I like all your ideas BTW Francis, Orignal SSB online FTFW. |

I agree with Super Mario Bros. 4 and Sonic the Hedgehog 4, as well as SF2, if that's what Francis meant. Also: -Kirby's Dream Land 4: C'mon Hal, I wanna see Kirby's friends make a return, along with Dark Matter (*cough*03*cough*), Gooey & Kirby co-op, crayon-style graphics, etc. -Donkey Kong Country 4: Yes, Rare is no longer with Nintendo, but they can still develop handheld games for us Nintendo fans.
What's with all the fours? I suppose most games come in trilogies.... |

OH SHIT FRANIS A NUB
I'd really like to see another 8-bit Ninja Gaiden, but that can't ever happen. Considering the creator left Tecmo.
Punch-Out is obviously another great choice, though I would rather see one that uses the Wii controls.
*crag* River City Ransom would be cool, especially if it had four player co-op and was online. I'd *crag* wet myself if that was announced.
And that's just about all I can think of that hasn't been mentioned. |

A new 2D Mario game for WiiWare would be epic. |

I wish. D=
I'd be interested in seeing a Kid Icarus sequel (aside from Of Myths and Monsters). I don't see the game design working particularly well in 3D, so a 2D sequel would be great. |

GBC - Super Mario Land 4 (A return trip to Sarasaland, tying up loose ends with Tatanga and Wario as Mario, and the return of the cultural lands would be a nice step for the Mario series) SNES - Kirby Super Star 2 (A return for Marx? The re-raising of the Halberd? The return of the most cartoony Kirby sprite style and the greatest gameplay ever? Another excuse to RELEASE HEAVY LOBSTER? Where do I sign up?) SNES - Mario RPG 2 (If Big Boss can come back as a giant android, why can't Smithy? Or maybe Chef Torte will become the greatest villan ever? No? Well I don't know where your fanboyism stands) SNES - Yoshi's Island 2 (Yoshi's Island DS just didn't cut it. Bring back the crayola-colored worlds please) |

There WAS a metal gear 2.
It's credited with a song in brawl, and there's a ROM of it in La-Mulana. |

I've always had this vague feeling that, since it was 0 Squared, it had something to do with the game being in 3-d(because although squared is 2-d and 3-d would be cubed, 0 was already 2-d, so... Meh.) Either way, 0 Cubed? I'm not so sure I'm into the idea. And since you mentioned 02 (I don't know how to put exponents), TECHNICALLY, Kirby 64 was dreamland 4. It was continuing Dreamland 3's story, at any rate. |

Probably not too good of an idea anyway. I just wanted an excuse to see Kirby's old friends again (Rick, Coo, Kine, etc.).
