Honestly, People keep acting like were not animals. What are we then? Rocks? We have all the same things. They say. "Because were smarter and animal son't have much worth" So someone with and IQ of 80 has more worth then an IQ of 120 and they are more of a human. No. Just no. We have everything the same we just succceded more. |

First off, yay Ruki!
Second off, I think people simply compare themselves as the same intelligence as most other animals. Superiority complex and whatnot. It really is sad. |

Yes, you are animals. But your species is more intelligent zhan zhe majority of other animals, and you are zhe dominant species of your planet. It is understandable for humans to believe zhey are "separate from" or "above" other animal species, even if it is technically not true. |

Biologically, humans are animals, yes. However, it is only natural, and not wrong, for humans to care less about and think less of other species than their own. Even if it is incorrect for a human to not think of himself as an animal, it is beneficial to the social evolution of the human race for humans to separate themselves from other species. |

For some reason, people find it wrong that humans eat other animals, and yet when a lion eats another lion's cubs to impress his wife, it's PERFECTLY fine! |

Animals are not self aware.
At least not most of them.
Even if we have similar physical structures our minds are far superior.
We have created society, we are civilized. That is what separates us from animals.
Physically we are the same, but it is what we have mentally that separates us. Anyone who thinks that humans are animals just because we *crag* eat meat and shit is ignorant. |

If we aren't animals what are we? Complex animals, sure. But animals nevertheless.
Also all creatures have societies in some ways. Our being civilized is our governing ourselves. We have rules in order to survive through mutal agreement. Many species do the same thing, but it is more of instinct.
The only thing that really seperates us is a more complex brain, and our self awareness. Otherwise, by definition, we are animals. |

Because humans are smart enough to understand and smart enough to develop other protein sources, and it's our job to protect animals that are weaker than we are.
Lions aren't smart enough to do that, so they can't. |

We have no obligation to protect the weak, you fool. That's a myth that hippies thought up because they were too high on pot to think right.
As far as referring to us as humans, it's what we are. We aren't our own kingdom, humanalia or anything... we STILL belong in Kingdom Animalia, but we are a different species from all animals, and are therefore different from every single animal on this planet in many ways... even the monkey, which we share a considerable amount of DNA with. |

Animal means: any member of the kingdom Animalia, comprising multicellular organisms that have a well-defined shape and usually limited growth, can move voluntarily, actively acquire food and digest it internally, and have sensory and nervous systems that allow them to respond rapidly to stimuli: some classification schemes also include protozoa and certain other single-celled eukaryotes that have motility and animallike nutritional modes.
We do have a well-defined shape as well as limited groth, we can move voluntarily, we can actively acquire food and digest it internally. etc.
2. any such living thing other than a human being.
Ouch.
The list goes on.
I guess you can CALL us animals, but the correct name for us is Human beings. |

Yes, humans are animals, they're just more advanced mentally than "animals". People are kidding themselves, though, if they think animals are all "dumb": other primates (chimpanzees, gorillas, etc), dolphins, and elephants are all sentient, and I've heard that squids and octupi have a huge potential for sentience. I don't agree with vegetarians who just don't want to eat "poor little animals"; they apparently can't accept the simple fact that humans are omnivores. I do think, though, that all living things should care about their own species more than another... |
