I prefer actual meat over fake stuff. Why? Because, chances are, most of those weaker animals are going to be eaten by carnivorous animals, anyway. You could go, "Oh, I'll save you Ms. Hen!" and let the thing go free outside, only to watch a mink attack and kill it ten minutes later.
Vegetarianism REALLY doesn't make much of a difference, so, it shouldn't be forced on other people. |

One vegetarian doesn't make that much of a difference, which is why it should be forced on other people. Then it will.
I know it'll never happen, but I like to think I'm doing my part.
If there's one real good reason to be a vegetarian though, it's health. I've gone down two pants sizes since I stopped eating meat. |

Plenty farm animal live longer than they would in the wild. Tell me, do you think dingo gives a damn about what the hippies at PETA think bout your fat-ass bufallo's damn rights? Naw, it cares that it's gt juicy loin to chew on.
And "I want to force it onto people?" Can't someone just strike you right now for flamebait? That's just...stupid. |

How exactly DOES it help, then? Animals eat other animals, if you disrupt that, then there are too many plant consumers, we run out of vegetables, and we all die. This isn't Kimba the White Lion.
As for health, you can be perfectly healthy eating meat. In fact, it's easier to get essential proteins and amino acids for proper muscle growth by eating meat, because our bodies have evolved to be omnivorous. Yes, you can lose weight by eating only vegetables, but you can lose weight by making a commitment to go for a run everyday.
I'm not going to ignore the benefits of vegetarianism, I just don't think that a lifestyle should be forced upon another person. It's like forcing a religion upon someone. |

First things first.
Our bodies have been designed to need the substances found in both meat and vegetables, therefor, so long as the meat you eat isn't high in fat and such, you can have nearly the same "health benefits" as you can being vegetarian.
Now. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with being vegetarian. I myself happen to be, indirectly, vegetarian. Though, this is more die to the fact that I choose to eat the foods I like best, being cake fruit and other sugary delicacies, but I will still eat meat if I must. I don't hate it. In fact, the few times I HAVE had it, meat is very good.
Vegetarianism should NOT be forced onto other people. It's YOUR choice, and you have NO right to try and FORCE it on other people. You can tell them that it's good, and it's your choice, but FORCING it on people is wrong. For instance, the reason my diet is pretty much all sugary foods is because sugar is good for the brain. Now, I'm not going to FORCE that on you, but I HAVE informed people of it's benefits. This too is how you should go about you vegetarian business.
And actually, forcing it on people doesn't work. Human nature tells us to do what we want to. Naturally, the more you try to make someone do something, the more the mind will tell the person it is not something it feels like doing. In "forcing" people to become vegetarian, you are actually driving them away. Try explaining, and possibly showing some facts and information on how vegetarianism ha helped yourself and other people. I guarantee more people will listen, and possibly become vegetarians themselves.
Now, onto my post.
Indeed, being vegetarian, in my mind, is not wrong. However, the whole world cannot be vegetarian. If it were so, there would be catastrophic results.
We, has oxygen breathing organisms, need the substance to survive. Guess what makes oxygen?
Plants.
Now, if all the world were to become vegetarian, all almost 7 billion people, what to you think would happen to the population of plant life?
You can say, "Oh, but will CONSERVE it". No. You can't. Not unless you want to die. Remember what I said about humans needing materials found in BOTH meat and vegetables? Well, yes, you can get everything you need to live a healthy life in just vegetables...but you must eat TONS and TONS of it. Further more, you need to eat a large variety. If everyone became vegetarian, there would be no WAY to conserve plant life. Actually, you want to know who conserves plant life? Omnivores and Carnivores.
Now, this is not to say that the world should become filled with Carnivores. If everyone were to eat meat, well, of one thing, that would kill off humanity through obesity and other health problems. However, it would also, once again, kill off the oxygen supply. All those animals wouldn't be there to feed the plants the Carbon dioxide they need to produce Oxygen. Thus, once again, the world would die. Further more, if all the animals disappeared (again, if all 7 billion people are eating meat, there is no way to conserve it.) even if people were enough to keep plants going, they wouldn't keep all of them going. Oxygen per person would drmatically be reduced, which, combined with out current atmosphere, wouldn't be eneough to allow us to survive. Thus, we all die.
Now, the perfect way would be for everyone to be Omnivores. We get the best results in terms of health, due to the fact we have equal sharings of both plants and meat, and no species of plants or animals would die out because of food needs. However, I realize that not all people are willing to change like that. But, the way things are right now is not bad ether. We still have a fairly balanced system, and nothing truly needs to be urgently hanged. (Except for fast food. That needs to go NOW).
So, in conclusion, don't force your ways on other people, for they are imperfect, and will cause the end of the world. This has been ranting with The Chaos Heart. Join s next week as we rant about another members stupidity and unintelligent actions. (Probably found in Off-Topic. Damn trolls.) Thank you, and have a good night! |

Metal would like to have a say in the topic.
First off: Humans as animals. IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW YOU VIEW US.
Some people view humans as animals because, yes indeedy-do, we have the same biological functions, and in some cases, a similar appearance.
HOWEVER, there IS in fact another side to the story. Many people consider humans as a seperate "faction" of beings. This argument also has some right in a way. Humans, as you may or may not know by now, have a natural sense of when something is being done wrong. Most animals do not learn from experience. For example, if i spelled something wrong in this post, I would look back upon it as a mistake and probably not spell it wrong again as I noticed it was wrong and out-of-place and went to correct my error. Just for a minute, lets say I'm a dog. If a dog learned English and learned how to type and use a computer, its brain would not necessarily tell it when it had spelled something wrong.
That's the difference between man and animal. Just want to point that out.
Also, there's nothing wrong with vegetarianism, but as CH pointed out, if everyone was of one faction (carnivore, herbivore, omnivore), then the world would have BIG PROBLEM ON HANDS.
Tyvm for your time. That is all for now on PSYCHOLOGY TOOOOODAAAAY.
One mOrE thingy: BUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

We humans are animals. We also screw things up big time. Now, we can't all be vegetarian, or all be carnivores. Whoever believes that probably doesn't understand a single factoid about biology itself. Now, about this...

Oh, so so it worked for you? Good for you. Also, you think about forcing this on other people? Then shut up. I can be what I want to be. |

I generally don't even talk about it, never mind force it on other people.
It's when people start getting on MY case and trying to force me to eat meat when I get pissed off.
Which is almost all the time.
It's really not funny to pour the blood off your steak onto my food. Really not funny. And I get this... all. the. time.
So I guess I've started to become hostile about it, it's the only way to keep other people from being hostile to me about it. |

That's quite a;; right. You may do as you please, Jolene. I will stick up for you.
However, I am stickig up for every one else as well. no one should force their ideas on you, and you shouldn't do like wise.
As for those people who mess with your food, they're just a gaggle of babbling fools. Ignore them.
Or, in the event they completely ruin your entire meal, hit em in the jaw for me, K? |

I wouldn't say that acting hostile in response is the best path of action; most of the time, when people mess with you, they are trying to get you to act hostile. If you act hostile towards them in return, you are giving them what they want, and letting them win. |

People like that are annoying to say the least. At least you've kept to your lifestyle and not let others alter it.
If you don't want to eat meat, then don't eat it. No one has the right to tell you otherwise. |

None of them. Just because people are half-witted moron elsewhere doen't make it true here. |

Yes I love the taste of fruits and veggies. but i like to enjoy the flavor of meat. ( sorry if this offends anyone) I feel meat is like a trophy that is won after a battle or our prize for being the dominant species. Theres a reason that Humans are more advanced than other animals, we have all had the same amount of time on this earth to move forward and progress ourselves. Eventually on the tower of evolution( sorry if that offends anyone) we reach the point where we pass animal and reach the point of just being a living being. Sure biologically we are animals but mentally and culturally we have reached a stage beyond that.
And also about people pouring blood onto your salad thats just messed up, Also raw meat is disgusting and unhealthy. Be a little bit more sophisticated take the blood out. |

Some animals are raised especially to be eaten.
Oh, and also. There's an island near where I live. On that island, there is a overpopulation of a certain animal. So much that Hunting for that animal is encouraged on that island.
Okay... Now to return to farm animals. Most of them are raised especially to be eaten. Of course, that means those animals are enclosed in a ranch for their entire lives, eating what they are given to eat, and their home is heated. And then they are killed. A treatment that could be perceived as either royal or shitty for an animal.
But who here thought about the poor plants and rocks? Sure, you could say that they don't live: but in truth, they DO live. Plants do have needs and stuff. ... Okay, scratch that failure argument.
Human were born and raised to be omnivore. That means they are meant to eat pretty much everything that is edible.
Now let me be Professor Will Al Freddy Kenon. Way back then, humans had to hunt for meat and fruits, for their survival. Then, they harnessed fire and agriculture. This made life easier.
Now, agriculture is now not only used to fulfill survival needs to the "needed" point. It goes a bit beyond that. That's because we live in a society of overconsumption, that needs more than it needs.
Next, growing vegetables is not very reliable for our needs. In this moment, people have hard time growing enough qualitative wheat. The prices for it raised and whatnot... |
