The old thread down there is sort of... old. This is more about the critical acclaim the movie is getting, though; no spoilers allowed. Here are some of the quotes from those who have seen the movie, found on Rotten Tomatoes:
Todd Gilchrist, IGN Movies wrote: | Nolan's sequel surpasses the original with an intense, disturbing masterpiece. |
Emanuel Levy wrote: | Dark, grim, haunting and inventive, Dark Knight is nothing short of brilliant, representing Chris Nolan's most accomplished and mature work to date and the best and scariest comic-hero adaptation you're likely to see this summer, perhaps the whole year. |
Peter Travers, Rolling Stone wrote: | The haunting and visionary Dark Knight soars on the wings of untamed imagination. |
I wouldn't expect less from the critics' reactions. This is going to be the greatest superhero movie ever made, and will probably bring a revival for DC Comics adaptations in movies.

I loved Batman Begins and me and my family have planned to drive to an IMAX theater to go see this. What's especially creepy is that (insert name here) died right after the movie was finished. It's gonna be weird to see him as the Joker in his final film. |

I love the Joker, so I'm definitely seeing it. And it's Heath Ledger's last movie. |

Why not look forward to the great performances by all the other great actors in the film, as well? Ledger is going to steal the show, of course... but we must not forget the cast.
It will be interesting to see how Harvey Dent/Two-Face is portrayed, though. |

Despite the fact that I've always loved the image of the Batman, the only thing I've seen/read that was related to Batman was most of the 1989 movie. I'm really looking forward to seeing The Dark Knight. |

Read in article in my local newspaper today that talked about how dark this movie was. By what it said, The Dark Knight is not just a little darker than Batman Begins... it is REALLY, REALLY dark, as in near-to disturbing. Which is awesome. It deals with a lot of conflicts in our own time. |

Needless to say, this movie is getting very good reviews.
Which is expected. This is the sequel to Batman Begins, after all.
Oh, and another thing. Move over, Iron Man- Batman > You. |

It makes me glad that my Dad is a huge fan of superheroes... especially Batman. I might actually get to see this in theatres instead of waiting for the DVD release.
Reminds me of watching the original TV show as a kid... even though the TV show was rather lighthearted. |
