Quite literally, a moment in gaming where the plot of a game *crag*s with your emotions, commonly by killing a beloved member of the protagonist's team.
God of War:An unused one(which REALLY suprised me given this game's track record.) Kratos was to be accompanied by a dog that represented hope for better times, and what lingering humanity Kratos possessed.
At a later time, this dog would be controlled by the hell hound, Ceberus.
Kratos would have to KILL this dog to progress, thus causing him to lose hope for a bright future, and also killing what kept him from becoming a total monster emotion wise.
The makers thought this to be too horrible, so it was removed. |

The PMD games. Paper peach would agree with me that the endings of those two games are the ideal thing to put in this topic. PMD2, I knew I'd come back because it was obvious, but they actually give you a plot of why you disappear.
And on all the mario kart games when you're so happy, about to finally get first, and win, when *blue shell'd* YOU'RE EXTREMELY ANGREH.
:3 Pretty much all the above ones. |

Here's a Player FALCON PAUNCH to me.
Eli Vance Dying at the end of Half Life 2 Ep 2. No matter how little direct contact was, I wanted to stab the Advisors with a rusty pipe hooked up to a car battery WHILE I WAS BEING SHOCKED when I saw it. |

There's a moment like the one in the OT in Eternal Darkness, where you're locked up with one other prisoner in a church and you become friends with that other prisoner, then you have to sacrifice him in order to progress. |
