Kinda a scary thought, if you think about it.

In theory, I'm not. If there's an afterlife, I think I'll be okay. I don't believe Hell exists, at any rate, and if there's no afterlife at all, I won't be in any position to care.
In practice, I'm scared shitless. Humans are hard-wired to fear for their lives, I think. |

No. Death is the only definite in life. Why should we fear it? It is the fate of all humans.
Having said that, I still don't wish to die. It's not that I'm afraid. There's just some things I need to finish first.

Hmm... this is a toughie...
I'd say that I am afraid of death. I have had many near death experiences and it is not something I want to do again. We all say "I'm not afraid of death" but when it is about to happen, we would sell our souls to avoid it. If you were tied to railroad tracks and a train was coming down the tracks extremely fast, you would be afraid. It is human nature and it cannot be avoided. |

Dammit, Goomba nailed what I was thinking perfectly. :<
I guess I'm not afraid of dying, but only if it's a peaceful death when I feel done with life. You know, like passing away in my sleep at the age of 80 or something.
I am, however, scared of a premature death, a violent death, a death by illness, etc.
One time is a particular bad memory for me. My boyfriend's mom was driving us home from school, and one of those huge tanker trucks took a wrong turn at the intersection and almost hit us at the red light. I was right in the front seat, and all I could remember thinking was, 'I'm going to die'.
Then I went home and cried. :< |

That's very unfortunate.I'm sorry to hear that.
As I stated above, I'm not afraid of death. There's a difference of being afraid, and not wanting to. I don't want to die, and will defend my life. However, it's not like I'm going to scream or cry out if I'm going to die,and there's nothing I'm going to do about it. Further more, if have a near death experience (which I have had, believe me)I'm not going to get freaked out about it when I am safe. I merely think why I almost died, and correct the problem. It's as simple as that. |
