A free-to-download-and-play shooter by the masters behind the Battlefield series... Battlefield Heroes is set to release this summer, and will be available to the public as a FREE download. The series takes a bizarre twist, using Team Fortress 2-like graphics, and the ability to fully customize your character. It is set with a third-person camera, so it'll introduce a new element to the series. I'm not sure if it'll have a first-person option or not.

Is it me, or is this just amazing? There seems to be a pretty big hype for it. It looks amazing graphic-wise: very clean and crisp with that clay-esque appearance.

Minimum system requirements:

battlefield-heroes.com wrote:
* Operating System: Windows XP or Windows Vista
* CPU: 1.0 GHz
* RAM: 512 Mb (1Gb on Windows Vista)
* Video Card: 64Mb DirectX compliant video card with at least pixel shader 2.0 support
* Hard Drive space: 1Gb of space is required to install the game
* Internet connection: 256kbit Cable/DSL connection

It doesn't require HUGE specs to run, but for those with a more dated system, it might be a bit hard to run well.

Either way, this game looks extremely promising, and more info will be released at E3 this year. I'm looking forward on the news as to when it's set to release, and if there are any extra features they've been holding back from us. Very Happy

I'm definantly getting into this. I'm probably going to be a soldier or commando.

Not yet. E3 should hold the answers...

Yes, I am super-excited about this, mainly because

CE and BF1942 are my two most-favorite and most-played multiplayer games ever.

If you want to get in some practice now while you wait, download the Battlefield 1942 demo, which never gets old, even now almost six years later:

And if you really want to experience where all this started, try the Codename Eagle demo:

Now THESE are some minimum requirements:
200MHz CPU
32MB RAM

Will probably be lackluster compared to some of the more recent members of the Battlefield series.

But the thing is that it's NOTHING like the past Battlefields.

You simply can't compare them.
