Why must they "install"?
I never understood that, as the game is on the disc, and the data is saved to the system...
So, what does it need to install? |

It will install certain "parts" of the game I guess. I'm not entirely sure what it installs, but it significantly cuts down on load times, lag, etc. Not too many games use it. |

It makes loadtimes in the actual game a lot faster. |

It is faster to read from the Hard Drive than the BluRay disc. Some people say the PS3 has a really slow reading BluRay drive. I think a lot of it comes down to lazy developers, since most games get by without it. |
