It seems to me that - after the 2 week period - a topic can suddenly sink and those who still wish to have an active conversation in it are unable to do so. New members also have a tendency to revive long dead topics without good reason.
My suggestion is that all topics which have not been posted in for 2 weeks are locked. When someone has a good reason to revive a topic, they pay a sum of coins, the topic automatically unlocks and the user is able to post. The topic is then left unlocked for another 2 weeks.

yes, but not that much. 5 coins, maybe. or if they don't have enough, that they get striked unless they have something good to say. |
