Before you take one look and say 'OMG DRAMA DIGIBUTT IS FINE' I would like to point out that I do not hate the site. Digibutter is awesome, and is more popular now than ever before. What I have noticed, however, is that Digibutter is losing some of its individuality compared to other forums.
Items/Health: Almost never used anymore.
Arcade: Mostly dominated by a select few users, leaving others without a chance at the high scores - Francis did reset the leaderboards, but it probably won't last long.
Modplots/Parties: The first few were fun because everyone joined in, but now people immediatly shun any event they come across, claiming it just causes spam and drama when they themselves are contributing to that drama by complaining.
The Boards: This site has forums that are on next to no other forums (how many forums have you seen with a digital butterflies board?) but these days most members frequent only RPOT or OT, cultivating an unjustified prejudice against the other board.
Digibutter itself is doing fine, but the sight of all its unique features being forgotten is depressing to say the least. I know some people will calmly disagree with me on this, and I'm sure the flamers will not be far behind, but I felt the need to express my opinion on the situation and have now done so. That is all. |

I'm sure that Nerr 2.0 will be a huge step forward for the site, the only question is when it will stop standing on the horizon and come down and greet us. |

You know, I find it absolutely hilarious. Everyone just thinks that, reguardless of what they do, they're going to make everything better because big bad Nerr 2.0 will solve all of their problems, and will destroy the undeserving members possibly. Of course, everyone's opinion about those members changes (I'm sure I'm on someone's "needs 2 leave" list, well, besides rawrskey's, but if his list was followed, we'd have three members). But, ponder this...
What if WE ARE Nerr 2.0? What if WE are what will carry digibutter into a new age of prosperity? What if WE get off our lazy asses and post for the improvement of the site, instead of bashing others to get our own opinion out?
It's just been the general trend of the site to pass the bill on to someone else. So, why don't we just finally pay our dues and advance together to what was lost so long ago... |

If there are problems caused by negative member attitudes and behavior, they can of course only be fixed by the members making the change themselves. The members make the forum, after all. Nerr 2.0 itself is a change with the site's technical bits such as its features, so it does help, but not in the way you're saying that some members seem to expect. |

Well, the only conflicting response I have with you there is that I don't think you should generalize. Not everyone feels this way. On your primary point, I very much agree that such an expectation is silly. Now, your use of the term 'everyone' may just be a basic hyperbole for 'lots of people', and if that's the case and you're right, it really is a shame; that is to say, in that case a lot of people need to realize that Nerr 2.0 won't solve problems that way. |
