Francis wrote: | Most strikes come from reporting. Many times, if something is not reported, it goes unstriked. So it's really an imbalance of who gets reported by the members. | This is what we've been trying to tell you. The mods regulate the forum as best we can, but we can't go into every topic and check every post.
It is not hard to report a post you think should be stricken.
We aren't the biased ones here. If you people actually REPORTED the members, we'd probably actually read the posts in-depth, rather than skim over them. And might I remind you, there are so many posts in OT, all we can afford to DO is skim over them. I don't think I've seen a single biased decision made when it was reported first.
Bottom line: If it's bad, report it! You members have no right to criticize us if you act as biasly as you claim the mods do. Sure, it's not your job, but we're also members. We just want to have fun and post with everyone else. Reports are your way to do justice around here, so use them!
I know this just seems like a stupid rambling from a stupid mod trying to defend his idiotic ways, but at least give it a read. |

Um... I know lots of other forums who don't have the report button and don't manage to have this problem. The mods ARE suppose to read EVERYTHING, you're not suppose to be lazy and make us do the work for you. And maybe you'd actually get to stuff if you got out of RPOT more than once a blue moon. :/ You complain like everything is so hard, but you're really not even trying. Things could be a lot worse. |

I have to agree with you here. It seems unfair for mods to take ALL the responsibilty (even though that is the 'job' description). What's wrong with helping something for once?
I must admit, I do not like using the report button because I am afraid that my report may not be a 'good' report and that I would be wasting a mod's time. I should probably stop thinking that way >.< |

Not to mention that I'm almost CONSTANTLY patrolling Off Topic as well.
All I'm trying to say here is that the report button is there for a reason. Nobody wants it gone, right? I've seen no topics in Feedback asking for it's removal, therefore everyone must be cool with using it, right? |

I'm not even a mod, but I don't even find it fair that they should have to read freaking 351,925 posts.
expessioully when they're seperated by threads, and forums.
And that's just the posts a couple of minutes ago. |

| Don't be afraid of using it. We don't get PM'd or anything. All we have to do is look, and decide. That takes, like, a minute. Don't worry about wasting our time. |

You're missing the point. They CAN do their job, but they CAN'T do their job if they don't see any spam to strike. That's why we have the Report button, to report any and all spam. |

You're not doing ALL of their job for them, you're only helping them out. If you don't want to report, don't. You'll only complain when you say the mods "don't do their job", which a lot of people seem to do nowadays anyway. |

Yeah, but you're not one of the people the OP is directed toward. The OP is directed to the "whine whine whine the mods are soooooo awful" people, who should really be forced to be mods if they think they can do it so much better. |
