I disagree. They are not going to stop selling PS2 anytime soon, so no one needs backwards compatability. No BC means a cheaper PS3 and the end of confusing model differences.

I have no desire to play PS2 games. If I ever do, I would rather buy a PS2 that can be setup in a different room, rather than play it stretched out all ugly-like on my big HDTV.
