Keep this civil. No flaming or flamebait; if you disagree with someone's opinion, speak calmly, and don't speak in a flamebait-ish way- punishment will be given to people who break forum rules or thread rules, and the punishers will punish not based on their own view of the subject, but with neutrality.
Anyway, so, I was inspired to make this thread when I saw a thread on another site talking about "furries." In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with such people if it remains fantasy, and doesn't cross over to reality (Where it would be bestiality.)
So, yeah, I don't believe fetishes are a problem, unless they inflict harm on a person or animal.
As for homosexuality, yeah, I don't see anything wrong with it.
Sex changes, now, I don't agree with, as they are likely to enforce gender roles/identities/stereotypes, which I believe are wrong- reasons being in this thread. Of course, you can do whatever you want; I'm not going to hold you back. Just don't expect me to support your decision, either.
Alright, so, discuss, and debate. But do so intelligently.

I honestly don't care.
My view of humanity can barely decrease as it is. These kinds of acts won't affect the way I view you.
As for me, I don't have these problems. I have more important things to do than worry over my sex, and have weird fetish's. |

Sex change IMO is just...ugh. You have to go through a lot of trouble to change your gender. And when you do, not many people will like you...and there are some bad things when you do change your gender. (Not trying to make fun of CD/Poison here) Fetishes are fine as long as they don't get out of hand, which usually happens. <.< |

The people who do still like you and accept you for who you are would of course be the people I'd really appreciate and need in life. As for gender roles, I don't like them. I still have gender dysphoria, though, and the cure for it would be a sex change. It goes beyond conforming to supposed definitive actions and feelings that 'make' someone male or female. I suppose it's difficult to explain. Anyway, being accepted and not just tolerated is always nice, but I won't expect everyone to do it; it'd just be nice. =P Oh, and I realize that there will be some people who won't tolerate or accept me for whatever reason, but it's something I need to do no matter what, as difficult as it is.
No problems with homosexuality or anything unless somewthing hurts someone in some way. And that is all. =) |

Sexuality? I'm fine with homosexual people. It's their choice, I guess, but I don't wanna see them flaunting it. If someone loves someone, and they're really in love, and they're both men, that's okay.
Sex changes... I find disturbing. Not only is the result unattractive, but it's also like living your life as a lie. I believe that if you don't like being a certain gender then you should just live with it; and after getting a sex change, fact is barely anyone will want to be around you. It's screwing with nature and playing god for your own greedy needs. If someone thinks they're another gender, it's probably much easier to just be homosexual. No need to go through horrible, expensive surgery just to become a genderless monster.
Fetishes are found in everyone, kind of like a food preference :P But I don't like creepy ones like cutting or stuff. That's not sex-related and it's just creepy D: |

What makes someone male or female, though? I understand that it is hard to explain, but I must know why you believe gender identity to be important. If you believe that it goes beyond biological characteristics, definitive actions, emotions, thoughts, and feelings, what does make a gender identity, and make you consider yourself female on the inside? I'm curious, and if you can give a good example as to what makes a gender identity and why it is so important, you could change my view on sex changes.
As I see it, naturally, one's gender shouldn't have an effect on who someone truly is- and those that do believe that gender does have an effect on who they are make it that way. I'm leaning towards the idea that the origin of gender identity and depression because of gender is more psychological and cultural than genetic, and the genetic influences of gender on the mind besides attraction are minimal; therefore, it is society's customs and traditions that causes separation between the genders.
For ages, males had a tendency to be viewed as dominant, and that changed in recent times. I believe that, if females were the dominant sex instead of males, the qualities of gender identity would be radically different.
Hopefully, one day, the genders will be seen as intellectual equals, with the only differences being physical and sexuality differences. The only way to truly accomplish that, however, is for gender identities to become nonexistant. Maybe, some day, we will lose the need for sexual pleasure and reproduction, and science can alter the human race to become 'genderless,' rendering the concept of gender identites useless, and nonexistant. This, I believe, would be necessary in the quest for future life-extension research and near-immortality.
Of course, I don't have anything against you, personally, and I still wouldn't hate/despise/think lesser of you, and would still treat you or any other trans-gender person as an equal human. |

No, you can feel sexual pleasure. You need to do more research. Also, being homosexual and being transgender are not the same. That is, one very false notion that some people have is that a transgender person is just a homosexual who wants to be the opposite sex. But never mind... |

I have always been curious about this. Surely, yes, one can still feel sexual pleasure after a sex change- but is the sexual pleasure as effective as it was, originally? It would surely be different, and I doubt the sensitivity would be equal or 100% reminiscent of a natural vagina (Since we're talking about male-to-female, here); wouldn't it be natural to assume that the sensitivity would vary? And then there's other factors, such as the quality of the surgery.
I guess the only way to know for sure is to get a sex change; it's common knowledge that sensitivity and sexual pleasure still remains, however. |

Yeah, sometimes it can be even better. Stimulation would be like a female's experience as opposed to a male's; males are mostly visually stimulated, while a female can be stimulated by voice and touch.
By the way, if I had a choice, I would be cisgendered. This is how it is. It's a depression and this is something that will make me happy... I'm not sure why it would bother anyone. Well, the idea that someone would be bothered by it is ridiculous, so thank you Lord Crump. |

I hate the notion that gays/lesbians hit on straight people of the same sex all the time. Like, how some girl thinks I'm going to *crag* her just because I'm lesbian, wtf. Just because I'm lesbian doesn't mean I'm a sex-crazed monster. I'm still a kind, intelligent and socially aware person, and I'm not going to *crag* some other girl just because I find her attractive. Frankly she should be more afraid of a guy raping her. |

If you think you'd be happier as the opposite gender, that's fine. If you're gay, that's fine. If you have a weird fetish, that's fine, as long as nobody's getting unwillingly hurt. But don't try to get up in everyone's face about it, and make a huge deal out of it when someone disagrees with you. You're free to do what you want, but that doesn't mean everyone has to like it. And that about sums up my thoughts on the subject. |

Yeah, I'm only going to civilly defend myself. Some approaches can be like a slap in the face, so if someone actually calls me out in some way, I'd probably respond if it's disrespectful. That's about it. =) |
