I came across this while talking to my cousin about Snake's moves in Brawl. I was in Shadow Moses in MGS4, and we were talking about the Brawl stage of it. I told him that you saw Metal Gear REX, RAY, and the Gekkos in the stage and I realized that you see them there in MGS4 as well! REX is still there from the first game, you fight Liquid who's piloting RAY, and the only enemies in the entire act are Gekkos. In fact, Shadow Moses being in Brawl hinted that it was being remade.
Snake's weapons are all from MGS4 besides his Nikita and Cypher, although that's obvious. His Final Smash also shows off the MGL-140 Grenade Launcher that you get from Raging Raven (with a different paint job), and the Final Smash in general has the same perspective as the Bike Chase and Drebin's Tank fixed vehicle scenes. His different Camouflage outfits also match his Octocamo Suit in MGS4 being able to change it's patterns.
I'm surprised I didn't realize any of this earlier. ._. |

Yea after playing MGS4 I began to notice a lot of those parallels as well. Makes me sort of wish they had an Old Snake outfit in Brawl.
They had Grandpadorf, why not Grandpasnake D: |

Because in the MGS on the Gamecube Snake was young not old, Sony own the rights. |

I call him Grannydorf, cuz it sounds more like his original name. XD
But making an Old Snake costume would be a bit different, as they just change colors and the like for the recolors. Old Snake would need an entirely new facial/outfit build. |

Uh, no it wasn't.
If you played MGS4, you'd realize that version of "Love Theme" isn't actually in the game at any point, only as an iPod Tune which has "from SSBB" in the description. |

That argument makes no sense. Konami owns the rights the MGS franchise--It was up to them to what extent they let the Brawl team use. There's music from 4, Outfits from 3, Dialogue from 2 and Art from 1--among other things.
:D But I do understand they would've had to do a lot of character remodeling for Old Snake--however they could've just given him the Old Snake color set XD |

True. Content spreads as far as Portable Ops from references in Brawl.
White hair, dark blue sneaking suit, and tan vest? If I had PhotoShop where I was, I'd do a decent recolor of his Brawl render. |
