Everyone remembers the classic game, Final Fantasy 4. Simple in its graphics, true to the series' format of small birds-eye-view overworld forms transforming into larger profile battle-forms. Classic battle music, epic plot, and memorable main characters. And, of course, Fat Chocobo.

It has been given a glossy new set of graphics, voice-acting, and mini-games (as well as a new character/summon which can be also used in an online battle mode).

Let's go over the game, shall we?

Gameplay: Same tried and true battle system, but as any person that has played the original, it does not detract at all from the game itself. Why mess with perfection? Because there's now a touch pad to use, the bottom screen shows a map (or a partial-map, if you're in a dungeon or something) and you can use the stylus to move around instead of the d-pad. The maps show treasure chests, but I don't know about Secret Paths yet.

Story: Its Final Fantasy 4. The plot-line is epic, but I'm sure that everyone knows what "Spoony Bard" means and who Fu So Ya is. But, again, this is what makes the game so great (in my opinion).

Graphics: Amazing. Some of the areas have been altered slightly, but its all still there, more or less. I love how Rosa looks. Beautiful. And you can actually see Cecil's eyes and he can make his helmet's visor move up and down and he can cover his face with a mask to protect it from injury. Its the little things that help. Of course, the SNES could only have done so much, but this is just... wow.

Sound: The brand new addition of voices to cut-scenes is awesome. I expect that in some places, I might feel that the voice might not suit the character, but I don't know for sure. When I saw Rydia for the first time, I cried.

Playability: I keep dying in the desert because I can't run away fast enough (and I am honestly lost. The town is hidden SOMEWHERE...), but I will see this through to the end. Of course, as this is a long game, you can't just play it ten times in a row. At least, not quickly. But, as you know from the original, it is worth replaying at the end. Or at least finding everything...

Final Words: Get. It. Now, if not sooner. This is worth your money. If you've never played RPGs before, this is a good one to start with. Get this game, people.

A+ - Truly epic and worth the money.

I am thinking about getting it to day, but I disliked FFIII. The lack of save-points just ruined the experiance. Tell me, can you save at any time, or are there actual save points kind of like FF7. Because FFIII's save-point only in the overworld SUCKED.

I'll probably buy it after I buy the PS3 I'm too lazy to earn money for.

Maybe in January or something, I don't feel like getting my first Final Fantasy game in '08.

Thankfully, there are save points in this game.

Meh. probably not getting it.

I would love to, since FFIII DS kicked ass and this is going to have the main complaints removed.

You can save anywhere in the overworld and there are in-dungeon save points. They also act as Tent-points.

I just beat it last night and I can say, I'm impressed.

1991(or whenever it was made): "I am a farmer"

2008: "Me? I am but a simple farmer."

Uematsu says the above line in the developer's room.

I must say though, everything is just amazing. The Giant of Babil looks amazing, as does the Tower of Babil and the Lunar Whale. The dungeons are unique, and the airships all look great. The music has been remixed, and the augment system is great. I'm just farming for tails right now.

The minigames pissed me off, although I got 9999 in all of them yesterday.

Oh, and about your final statement: There will never, ever, be a game anyone anywhere will like. ever.

FFIV DS may very well be an amazing game, but you're making it out as flawless.
There is no such thing.
