I bet most of you know about global warming and the melting of the ice caps. My teacher so said that probably when the ice caps melt everything is going to freeze soon and we will enter another Ice age. What do you think will happen if the ice caps melt and there really is going to be another ice age. (Sea level rises and some places sink)

Well, nature itself, and almost every animal on Earth will be screwed. But with technology, we can basically give Mother Nature a slap in the face, and go on with our selfish ways.

Hah! Another Ice Age? I laugh!

The worlds temperature would actually change and prevent an Ice Age. What would happen because of global warming is that the Rain Forests would dehydrate, the Amazon will dry up, and they will become grasslands. Europe will experience desert like droughts, as will northern America. New York and other Eastern Coast states will flood and become part of a larger Atlantic Ocean. There will be so much out of wack that many of our animal friends will die off, and species will become extinct. They do not have time to evolve and adapt.

And technology wouldn't help us in any way at all at one point.

But, if we work together, we can change this fate. If we change our ways, we can prevent such a curse. For our sake, and many other beings and species sake, we must. If we don't, I hope humanity looks forward to super storms, death, and extermination.

It will probably be like Battlefield 2142. Where another ice age starts and basically everyone is fighting for land.

Then again, in times of darkness and death, even enemies work together...

I just hope that it doesn't happen within my lifetime.

Global Warming is overrated. If the ice caps melt, they melt and we'll be screwed and hopefully most of us will die in less than a second. We could probably live through another Ice Age, we got the technology to help us out...we'll live...maybe.

Ice Age = really long winter.

Winter = 3 months of snow.

I've lived through many winters. I can live through an Ice Age.

Well, no. Global warming is happening much faster than it should be. Al Gore DID exaggerate, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a point. If we don't do something, it's likely that there won't be another Ice Age. And even if the Polar Ice Caps DO melt, it won't wipe out the whole world, just most of it. The best solution for the world is to wipe out about 7/8 of the world's population of people, then have the survivors plant a TON of trees a day. That's really the only solution that I think will work. Overpopulation leads to everything causing Global Warming, and it leads to most of the worlds problems.

So you can survive going outside, your skin freezing, then cracking off because of temperatures below -50* F?

Ice Age, not Snow Age, sorry buddy.

The solution is to make sure it doesn't get out of hand in the first place, dah!

Lol, exaggeration. That's really funny! An Ice Age would kill loads of plants and animals, and make living standards go to zero. That's just funny, though. You think an Ice Age would make this planet as cold as space. Was that serious?

Of course, as you know, I was joking. But an Ice Age isn't THAT bad! D:

There were humans during the first one, and their skin didn't crack and fall of the second they set foot outside their hidey-holes. And if I recall the south pole has temperatures that drop a lot lower than -50 degrees. People are down there all the time with research and what not, and you don't see them dropping like flies. Hell, Alaska gets lower temperatures than -50, and there are people living in igloos.. made of SNOW, and they are warm. SOOOO... You, Cap'n Ollie, indeed know nothing of the matter... or temperatures at that.
