Several ravens watching from the rooftops laughed at this, cawing and flapping their wings.

It probably would make Arihu/Tutu distressed if she could tell that these people were not being affected by raven blood or magic.

She could, which had her, needless to say, absolutely baffled. Were the ravens getting subtler in their coercion, or...was something else going on here?

She stuck her wing out of the side of the cage, towards the nearest villager, and quacked again.

The poor villager who was nearest to the wing jumped back with a yell, as if she had swiped at him with claws.

The villagers looked to the voice of their goddess and bowed, with the cage lifted high above their heads.

"The demon approached the the form of a young girl. When we had it captured, it changed its shape and attempted to take flight. As you can see..." one of the elders said.

"I see. You managed to keep your hearts and minds clear of her taint."

"KRAEHE?!"

Ahiru's duckling body began to glow, and the cage rattled...

They continued to prostrate themselves before Kraehe, but a couple were looking up at the cage, concerned that the 'demon' was escaping.

The cage would suddenly fall apart into flower petals, as Tutu emerged in a whirl of red sparkles.

"Kraehe! What did you do to these people?"

Kraehe smiled.

"Absolutely nothing."

All of the villagers backed away from Princess Tutu.

They wanted to take her down for their goddess, but...

Kraehe's eyes were practically blazing with fierce triumph.

"She is nothing before your faith."

"I-I-"

Tutu looked around at the villagers.

The villagers were starting to draw closer towards Tutu. They would first pin her down and then, at Kraehe's command, do unto her every injury she had dealt every raven. And then, once all that was done, they would prepare to kill her for the crime of raven-slaying.

Tutu summoned her fan and held it wardingly between herself and the villagers.

"Please! No one needs to be hurt!"
