For Christmas... since it can play games, AND it's a high-quality, well-priced Blu-ray player...

(If you haven't figured it out by now... Shame on you.)

...Well, you get the idea. What game should I start out with? I was thinking LitteBigPlanet. Game #2, well, I'll have to look EVERYWHERE, but I want it to be the special edition of MGS4.

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction?
I don't have a PS3, but the series has always been great, and it looks awesome!

That's a good thing, there, the PlayStation 3. With special equipment, you could import the PS1 Memory Card Data, and with a PSP, you can play games like Animaniacs Ten Pin Alley, or Metal Gear Solid, which is sold as a part of the Essential Collection, and requires a PS1 Memory Card to save the game data.

I heard the Orange Box has frame rate issues on the PS3.

Well, I'm still going to get it due to my PC hating the game.

awesome
And server problems, and problems with pretty much everything else, or so I've heard. EA published the PS3 version, so it has an even worse chance of getting TF2 updates in the future than the 360 version. Your best bet is the PC version, but either way you need to buy it. Itès only about $30 on consoles these days anyway.

If you haven't played any other MGS game, you might have a high chance of not liking it. The storyline will be confusing as hell, and the gameplay mechanics won't be as familiar and it will have a really bad learning curve. However, it's what made many people get their PS3.
