RPOT. I spend a good amount of my time there. It has it's ups and downs in activity, but I find myself in Off topic more and more all the time. I've already learned that I can't make my own topics there. Why? Because I'm not popular enough. It kind of makes me sad to see off topicers giving RPOT a try, then getting ignored completely, and never showing up again. RPOT has a popularity scale. Some people are on top, some people are rock bottom. Seeing as you start on rock bottom, you can work your way up pretty quickly, but if you don't go quickly, it becomes completely impossible. People will ignore you like you're a clump of dirt on the ground by then, and you have no chance to show them how good you are with things such as character development. Then there's another thing. People ontop of the popularity scale can basically godmod. No, I don't mean they're better roleplayers, I mean I've seen them make a complete godmod go uncalled. As in, deflecting a laser with wind. A laser is a beam of LIGHT. How is wind going to effect it? It won't. Like I said, people on the top of that scale get a 'godmod free' card, I'm telling you.

Overall, I think RPOT can get kind of irritating at times.... and really irritating at times, but sometimes, it's actually pretty nice.

I used to like going in there, when people had cool alts and original plots, but now, I never go in there because of the *crag* elitists with their anime alts that I've never heard of.

Most alts I find in RPOT nowadays are OCs, and I like that. It brings a level of interaction beyond that of ones restricted to a certain universe or subspecies. Perhaps you who are commenting on "random anime characters I've never heard of" don't realize that they're just OCs with a generic anime character for the avatar?

I honestly like RPOT and think it's a good idea, but I don't go there anymore because I fail at it. But It's really fun and addictive, and is one of the most used forums here in digibutter.

Besides, it's not like the people who roleplay really care about the popularity scale. Don't you notice we tend to hang out there because everyone rags on our interests in other areas of the forum? When other people come in, we're either threatened or just confused. It's like when a nerd runs into one of his bulliers at a video game store; suddenly, he might not be so interested in playing Brawl as he is avoiding further torment. And there are always times where people feel like they can't figure into a plot. The latter is just more likely to happen with new, or as you called them, 'rock-bottom', people because they haven't roleplayed with them before and are inexperienced with their characters and storylines.

I really don't like RPOT anymore. I used to love it when it was new and fresh, but now it's gone into complete ruin. The biggest thing I hate about it I guess are the elitists. ( Maya's going to eat me because we had a big fight on the elitists. :D )

They ignore everyone except their own kind there. It's annoying because I've tried to get into it again, but I just get ignored. I got a developed character and nice starting post, but people are too busy with the stupid elitist's plot to pay attention to me. So I whine about it, and the dumb asses tell me to try harder. So I try again and the same thing happens. It's dissappointing that you have to be ignored in a place where you're suppose to greet everyone. And don't talk about entering one of their topics. They're either private, have plots that have gone way too far in ( Which shouldn't even be happening with the new rule, but the stupid little residence find every way possible to stay in the little cubby hole they call RPOT ), or if you do enter YOU STILL GET IGNORED. It's an endless cycle and the only thing left for you to do is leave and hate it.

I also hate the Elitists and their plots and characters. They're SOOOOO unoriginal. First all the plots are based entirely off of a plot that has already happened with a few minor changes and everyone creams themselves over them because they find them SO creative because they're now role playing in NOVEL. :D OMG NOVEL, LET'S ALL RUIN EVERYONE'S FUN WITH NOVEL. :D :D :D :D :D And the characters are all game or anime characters that all do things the normal character would not do. They too have things in them that have changed and again people cream themselves over them because the elitists are apparently so creative! :D :D :D Luckly most of the original characters are interesting and I usually go to plots that involve them.

Yoshi's right, the Elitists ARE given a "god-mod pass". Have you not seen some of these people. "My character is the god of the universe and he can do anything I want him to do and no one can defeat him because he's my character so don't think about defeating because he's so awesome I'm not god modding but since you say I am I wont use his powers just keep him as god of the universe because I declared that he was. CC: :D C:" God, how do you live with yourself with that? I'd probably ask someone to shoot me in the face.

Oh and the people in RPOT are all so defensive when we talk about them, or something involving RPOT. They're all, stop hating on us just because we're creative, DON'T TAKE AWAY OUR FREEDOM. >:C and things like that.

And when they go emo, we're all expected to love them and care for them because we're just amazing, but when we're emo, they're too busy with their little role plays to care. C:

Ugh...please excuse my reactions here, I watched a shitload of AGVN that for some reason I didn't watch this morning, so if my language becomes a little bit excessive, yeah, that's why. The opinions still stand, the facts are still solid, but if I come off as too harsh, it's...yeah, you get the idea. Alright, let's begin, shall we?

RPOT is simply awesome. It is a sub-culture of digibutter's usual nerr fandom, I guess you could say "the OOT to digibutter's Zelda" or "the Megaman X to digibutter's Rockman". Now, I'm not saying that it's higher quality than the rest of the site (in my opinion, yes it is, but I know that there's many who think it should be burried underneath 'teh dump'), it's just that it's upgrading the fandom that digibutter was founding on: BECOMING the anime and video game characters. And, whether that's a step forward or a step backward (in all honestly, I greatly prefer A Link to the Past over Orcarina), it's there, it's part of the canon, it's not screwed up like some CD-i crap, live with it.

There are no such things as "elitists" in RPOT. There is only Zuul. Anyone who says there are elitists is, in fact, an elitist, as they are discriminating against the "elitists" for actually being "friends". So there's really a lot of irony in saying that there's an elitist group, since you're just creating a group of elitists yourself, and the so-called "elitists" just smile and nod at you. So really, elitist is simply an offensive, annoying term, like the n-word, that needs to be discarded.

There's no such thing as godmodding. Really, digibutter is MUCH better than most of the role-playing sites, where there's Super Voltron Mr. Krabs Jebus the Mama Luigi Satanic Whoring Bitchslapper that murders you by looking at you (yes, I've actually Role-Played against that character. >_>). Now we only have thought-to-be 'invincible' characters. But, allow me to divert your attention to Metal Gear REX. Snake has a missile launcher that can't do jack against it, and Otacon says that he PURPOSELY built a radome outside of the REX in order to open the cockpit, the weak point. why? Because 'everything has a character flaw.'

Wow...what a novel concept...so WHY ARE YOU SO BLIND TO IT?! IF CHARGING IN HEADFIRST WITH A FRIGGIN' LIGHTSABER DOESN'T WORK THE FIRST SIXTY-TWO-HUNDRED TIMES, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK IT'S GOING TO WORK NOW?! ONLY DAMN COMIC RELIEF CHARACTERS CAN GO THROUGH WITH THAT CRAP!

Really, the lack of creativity in most role-player's styles here (myself, admittedly, included) is just...sickening, honestly! Wanna know why Kraehe's still alive? Wanna know why The Joker's still kickin' (and where he got those scars)? Wanna know why Kamek's still there? Wanna know why Chaos is still present? Wanna know why Mr. I isn't put to rest yet? IT'S BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T FOUND THE RIGHT WAY TO BEAT THEM YET! Instead of the linearity of a video game, you've got a whole shitload of ways to kill a mockingbird, so just find the one that actually works!

And I think that, in the face of friendship and laziness, where most of the complaints of RPOT come from.

My final statement: DESTROY THIS TOPIC AFTER MY POST HAS BEEN READ. RPOT is not a foreign part of the site. We're all part of one, singular series, with high-quality. It's not like Hotel Mario, which is unspeakable crap, or the Super Mario Bros. movie, which...look, I'm not even gunna GO there. My point is, racism and hatred for specific points and people aren't going to stop until you let it rest in peace. We're not OTheads, we're not RPOTards, we are NERRS. Ugh. >_> I'm getting so sick of this. Everytime someone points out something wrong with RPOT that's true, the elitists make it look like RPOT is perfect. It's not! Everyone always roleplays about the same things all the time, and of course, there's no way to kill the villians. They're so super evil and godly that they have no weakness. This is really unfair to people who are new to RPOT, because they don't have a chance to show that they can roleplay. And plus, the elitists won't roleplay with the new people just because they don't roleplay about the same stuff as them. It's really unfair. I've tried multiple times to get some respect in RPOT, but I just get treated like shit and I get ignored. I tried to ask how good I really was, but they all lied to me and they told me that I was good at it just to shut me up so they could go back to roleplaying about their dumb things. And I really hate how you can't say anything to criticize the elitists. They just go emo when you do. It reminds me of bratty 10 year old artists who can't take any crits at all without getting offended. It gets really annoying. I would at least like the elitists to grow up and learn to take some criticism.

And I'm going to give a perfectly good example: Mr. Game & Watch. Unique member, unique Role-Playing style, and he's role-played with some of the so-called elitsits, and I don't think he's been here for a month!

Also, I'd like to point out in response to the 'animetard' attitude that some people find it easier to use these alts because A CHARACTER WITH A GROUNDED PERSONALITY AND BACKGROUND IS EASY TO GET A HOLD OF. All you have to do is be familiar with it, which is why there's way many more fanfiction authors or fan artists on the net than there are original authors and artists. When you try to create your own character, it's new and unusual to people, so they don't always get it, or you yourself are having trouble summing up what kind of character they should be. Or, like me, you're too emo or paranoid about art theft to put pure OCs on the web. It may get repetitive, but that's where you have to start throwing in new things: having your character interact with others, maybe King Dedede making an alliance with Ganondorf to fight Mario, or expanding on parts of the character that were left foggy.
