I want to see how many people actually played this before Half Life 2, or at least those who have beaten it at all. I grew up with this game from watching my dad play it when I was little (He used to play games back when the original Counter-Strike was in full swing), before buying all of the expansions for it and falling in love myself. Remember, before Episode 1+2, there was Opposing Force+Blue Shift. Respect. |

No, but I've heard Valve is planning on bringing more than just Portal: Still Alive to XBLA, so there's hope for an Arcade release of HL1. I'll be sure to bitch to Valve about it in an email, because I loved HL2 and onwards like my own first-born child and I'd really like to play HL1. |

Bah, they'll never add Opposing Force or Blue Shift. Opposing Force was, in my opinion, as great or even better than HL1. |

I played Portal first, then every Half-Life game, in order, except for Portal, and the expansions to the first one.
I already know about the expansions to the first one, though, because I've read about them and watched several videos. They didn't interest me enough to play them through with the original pain-in-the-ass Source engine.
I actually started playing HL2 right after I finished HL, and I have to say the change in graphics, physics and NPCs really startled me in a good way. I was completely enamored for about half an hour before even reaching Barney.
I kept posing for the camera-bot and listening to Dr. Breen. 
Anyways, besides the combat and GlaDOS's hints, HL1 was a lot like Portal. tons of ingenious puzzles that were easy to learn, but difficult to master. |

Well, I'm sorry you feel that way man. Hopefully Valve can make something that you like and enjoy later on.
@Captain Geno- Half Life 1 wasn't originally based off of the Source engine, unless you mean when they transitioned the game over to Source after Half Life 2. |

I played it once at a friend's house when he invited me over. I loved it, but I didn't beat it. The Gonarch can just burn in Hell for all I care.

OH GOD I HATE THE FREAKING GONARCH!
At least Gargantuans can be distracted by grenades long enough for you to gun it, but I had so much trouble with that glitchy, overgrown face-hugger. |

Started playing through HL:Source, and im currently at the Office Complex level. But, whenever im playing a Valve game, I cant help but want a gravity gun. |
