I'm curious about what some of you have to say about the present days of Nintendo. Here's my opinion.
Even though Nintendo is trying to reach a new field of gamers they've sort of forgotten the hardcore gamers. We, as the hardcore gamers, have supported Nintendo through out the years and have helped their profits rise. Though, Nintendo has been concentrating on the casual gamers and have made their games much easier for these types of people.
We find ourselves asking, "Did Nintendo forget about us?" In my opinion, I feel that they could have made games with the option of setting it to hardcore, so that the gamers who enjoy hard games, can continue to enjoy what Nintendo has to offer. |

I agree, Nintendo have forgotten about us hardcore gamers (which is sad really). Nintendo should stop making so much casual games and return to what they best at doing (mario games,Zelda, pikmin,Kid icarus). But hopefully sooner or later they will realize that. |

It's okay, but Nintendo focuses far too much on making games for "everyone"... including two-year-olds and 80-year-old women.
They may be trying to expand their audience, but they're actually limiting it to those who have never touched a traditional gamepad before. |

I think they're taking the casual-milking waaaaaaay too far. The Wii used to be a good system, though; while the third-party games all sucked, you had Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Fire Emblem: RD, etc. etc. Then they saw one of the hundreds of news reports of people in retirement homes playing Wii Sports and realized they could make a lot more money for a lot less effort. I'm actually selling my Wii to a few of my brother's friends with their own apartment for $200 because I don't feel like it's even worth 10 bucks to me anymore. |

It's pretty obvious that Nintendo, home of the core gamer, has forgotten about their prime audience: the core gamer.
Their shift towards casual gameplay is starting to make me favor Microsoft... |

I'm starting to play the old games of the NES-64 era. They appeal to me more than this casual garbage. |

Well, I still like Nintendo, and I'm not going to stop liking them as long as they continue making Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, etc. I wouldn't call them my favourite company any more, though. I still use my PS2 more than my Wii, and I'm planning on getting a PS3 when I have a spare $400. |

Nintendo's almost forgot about us, instead of making another good game like Mario Kart Wii, Brawl, Metroid Prime: 3, they've decided to work on a thousand more sports games and Mario parties. I bet they'll have another Mario Party game out before you can say 'Nintendo'. Whoops! Too late. |

Yes, I think they have forgotten about us, but I think the casual games are fun, too. I'm a hardcore gamer, but I don't dislike sitting back with a casual game like Wii Sports

What are you talking about? Pikmin, Mario, and KI are in NO way hardcore. Then again, this IS the guy who has the huge obsession with Worms. |

-Mario pretty much invented the platformer genre -The original Kid Icarus was considered one of the hardest NES platformers around -Pikmin, while not being as hardcore as others, still has a bit of a learning curve. Not to mention it is an original real-time strategy. Usually this type of game is not aimed at the casual audience, and there aren't very many RTS games on modern Nintendo consoles to begin with...

I meant currently. KI was hard, but it wasn't for hardcore gamers, Mario is the easiest game ever now, and Pikmin has a time thing, but that doesn't make it hardcore. |
