Zelnor stood in the main hall of Castle Bleck, panting. His face was screwed up in an effort of concentration. Raw magic crackled around him, arcing out of his body into the seal that had been drawn on the floor. Ghostly copies of it rose into the air, spinning and writhing like living light.

On the floor down the stairs in front of him, another seal sprang to life, glowing. With a zap, the first person was teleported into it. A look of shock was on his face as he realized where he was.

The procedure spread to the other seals - flickering and crackling, they sprang to life, sucking in people.

Zelnor lowered his hands and looked up.

"Everyone, I have teleported you here today to commemorate a most extraordinay" - a little pause - "man. Count Blumiere. He lived for his love, Lady Timpani, and thoguh he did wrong in his search for her, in the end he was prepared to sacrifice himself for us all. I hereby ask you to give the two, wherever in the multiverse they be, their respect. And may their undying love be a hope for us all.

Thanks you. To Blumiere and Timpani !"

And with a snap of his fingers, twilight burst out of the walls, the ground, the ceiling. He felt the power fill him, stronger then ever before.

And the walls rippled and shifted, their blackness going white. Some pieces of it vanished, leaving windows showing a new sky instead of the dimensional nexus previously there. The black rectangles circled the room, setting down as ornaments, plants and benches.

Zelnor felt his strength draining - but this was important ! With a last effort of concentration, he waved his hands and mumbled the last syllables of the spell.

Behind him, twirling gracefully through the air, the last pieces of Twilight reformed into an enormous mural of the Blumiere and Timpany, picked out in stained glass, holding their hands and smiling.

The first rays of the morning sun shone through it, creating a facsimile of light on the floor.

Zelnor took a look at it. 'Yes... it is adequate.' he though and then gently collapsed in a horizontal sweep as the first clap was heard.

I hail Blumiere for his goodness in the end.. but not Bleck for the misguided CRAZY.
