Nintendo is full of shit and the Wii is the worst console out of the three.

That said, Nintendo has definitely forgotten about hardcore gamers. We don't want "Wii Fit." We don't want "Wii Music." We don't want "Insert Generic Wii Title Here," and we surely don't want third parties following Nintendo's example and putting more casual shit on the Wii and DS ("Imagine Babies," anyone?)

Nintendo, and the third parties who put out software on the Wii and DS, need to get their acts together. The PS3 and 360 are getting hardcore, quality games like Final Fantasy and Fallout 3, whereas Nintendo's idea of what "core gamers" want is Animal Crossing. Now, don't get me wrong; Animal Crossing is fine. However, it isn't a prime example of a hardcore game. Mario and Mass Effect are hardcore games. Zelda and MGS4 are hardcore games. Animal Crossing has a hardcore appeal, but it isn't an epic. And epics are what the Wii needs.

Now, for the record, "hardcore" doesn't necessarily mean "hard;" nor does it mean "mature." A "hardcore" game, for a simple-yet-accurate definition, is a quality game filled with depth that a passionate gamer would surely enjoy. The Wii has little more than five to six of those, right now. Hopefully Nintendo bothers to turn itself around. Doubt it, though.

Funny, I've been playing my old games a lot more too. Anyways, as far as my opinion goes, I definitely have to agree Nintendo needs to stop this now. While the money they make goes up, the quality of the games goes down. Nintendo can't seem to pin both down, so they chose money. In a nutshell, Nintendo took the easy way out when playing the market.

I believe you mean "Imagine Babyz". I've seen it everywhere, yet I only catch the odd glimpse of FFTA2 when I don't have enough money.

I've known several friends who hate the Nintendo Wii, for the same reasons as us. Though, there's probably millions of people just like us, that have felt the same way. If only we could all come together and make our own system, with Mario as our mascot....but then we'd be getting ourselves into legal matters.

We need to destroy these legal matters.

BTW, the above image should be added as an emoticon to the forums Very Happy

I do like some of the casual games that Nintendo has (like Wii Fit, but I can't get it yet *glares at parents, who are out of room at moment*), but I'd love to see more hardcore games.
Which is why I'm excited about the rumors of Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Or maybe a good quality Mario RPG would be nice. Something like Partners in Time, but a lot longer. (Took me only 20 hours to beat PiT, and according to Francis' SecuriMeows, a good RPG takes at least 180 hours, not including side quests. Maybe 180 hours is too much, but longer than 20 hours would be nice.)
And I don't think they've exploited the concept of motion controls to their fullest. The best motion-control game I have in my collection is Mario Kart Wii, which really does make you feel like you're driving. I think that a great motion-control game would be a WiiWare remake of the Neo-Geo game "Samurai Shodown". I could really see myself using the Wii Remote like a katana...
Oh I hope the prevoius paragraph doesn't get flamed because of my small collection of games...
