I'm no pacifist, and I know violence is needed sometimes, but how are nukes going to help? Unless you think killing people, polluting the air with radioactive materials, and risking world war is a GOOD thing...
Hopefully this whole thing ends up not happening, or something. I'm not in the mood for the world to get itself screwed into another world war, or any war at all. There's been enough wars already. |

Except this doesn't have to do with Georgia. Well, technically, it does, but Russia making peace with Georgia won't bring an end to this conflict.

I've been doing a bit of research on this, as well, and it seems that former members of the communist party in Russia are once again in positions of power. Looks like we're seeing the spiritual revival of the USSR here, folks. |

I'll just say that it is unwise for Russia to piss off the USA by making threats directed at the US or any of its allies. From the sound of it, Russia has some serious dicks in office over there, and need to quit antagonizing the rest of the world. They're going to put their country through more hell than it has ever been through if they don't quit the nonsense.
But, what I say probably doesn't matter. It looks like members in this thread are already making the US look like the "bad guy" in this case. |

Russia is being very uncivilized with it's recent Georgian attacks and such. They are becoming more and more isolated, becoming the outlaw, that country tipping on the edge. If there is to be a WWIII then we'd not make it through. With the current technology of weaponry will make sure that we *crag* ourselves into oblivion in the process of our dick waving.

I will say that neither side of a war is ever fully good or evil- sometimes, however, wars are necessary. On a global and historical scale, for there to be peace, there must be war; I don't know much about whether or not a war against Russia is justified based on these actions alone- but if they attack either the USA or its allies, they must be stopped, one way or another. And, this time, the war would be justified, unlike Iraq's, which had nothing to do with 9/11.
And, to those who are anti-war even if a country is aggressive towards their own- if a country never defended itself, that country would never last. Thank God that we have a well-trained, "ready-for-action" military. |
