Prologue

The wicked doctor was testing out a new invention of his. If this worked, he would be able to apply it to the Hedgehog and turn his greatest foe into his greatest tool.

He had captured a Mobian at random. A dark-brown furred girl dressed in blue-jeans and a red sleeve-less top. Most of her spines were in a ponytail, but there were a couple which stuck out in the front. To his amusement, she happened to be a Hedgehog, and to his annoyance, she bore a passing resemblance to the Hedgehog. Not enough to make him enraged, but just enough for there to be a possible distant relationship between the two. The closest they could possibly be related would be cousins four-times removed.

Dr. Robotnik considered using her in another experiment of his, one which would convert flesh into machine, but at the moment, the mind was the more important issue. If things went wrong with the robot-maker, then his test-subject would be improved rather than enslaved.

The girl squirmed, attempting to escape from the metal cuffs which bound her to the table. This he found amusing. Escape was impossible and thus her efforts were in vain.

"Now, shall I do this the easy way and put you to sleep before we begin, or shall I instead cut to the chase and cut open your head with you feeling every last incision and pull?" Robotnik's voice was as cold and slick as oil when he posed this rhetorical question. What he was really doing was asking himself whether he felt like hearing her screams (he did so enjoy hearing the beasts howl in terror and agony) or if he would rather have the operation be preformed without any compromises.

The girl froze up a few seconds after he posed the question. Her eyes, wide and fearful, were staring up at him. She seemed shocked that he would even propose such an idea. Hmm... It would be better (and less headache-worthy) if he simply knocked her out. Dr. Robotnik did so, but rather painfully with a socket wrench.

Time to begin Experiment 9632b, codename: Mindgrip.
