Current selection I'm aware of: Xbox 360 Headset Plantronics Xbox 360 Live Headset X10 Microsoft Xbox 360 Live Wireless Headset Mad Catz Xbox 360 Headcom Pro Plantronics Xbox 360 Live Headset X30
Based on customer reviews (and prices), I've narrowed it down to the standard X-Box 360 headset and the Plantronics Xbox 360 Live Headset X30.
(In case if you're confused, I am intending to get an X-Box 360 before the summer ends.) |

I have two standard Xbox 360 headsets. They work rather nicely.
Plus, it's cheaper than the Plantronics version. |

The Xbox 360 Headset broke after a few months, The Plantronics Xbox 360 Live headset is the WORST. Trust me. Mad Catz fails, the only one to go for is Microsoft Xbox 360 Live Wireless headset. I've experianced with most of these headsets, and the wireless headset is by far the best. Although I have trouble synching it to other controllers. o.O |

I bought a standard one for about $20. The sound quality's fine on my end, but a little bit choppy on everyone else's end. Still worth it though. I wouldn't recommend spending $60-$70 on a headset, just spend more than $5. |

If you want a cheap headset that will last you a few months go for the normal Xbox 360 Headset. If you want a headset that is abit pricey, but will last you alooong time. Go for the Wireless headset. |

I have the packaged-in headset and it works fine, the one thing I don't like is how loud I have to talk to get it to pick up sound, sure its a little under normal volume that you need to speak but I wish I could talk quieter. That's why I tried out the headset from the original Xbox, that one's mic arm reaches all the way to my mouth, and picks up my voice nicely, but it gets annoying to try and wear. Now I'm just using, for the most part, a headset from my old phone, it picks it up great, but I don't know how good my output is, and the sound gets loud. Just stay with the one in-box, it'll serve you fine. |

You know, I find it weird that people can manage to BREAK a headset. Do you throw it against a wall when you lose or something? Because I don't think they're built to handle that for too long. |
