You see the second program or application or whatever with no name? I can't get rid of it. It doesn't appear on task manager and I can't right click it. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? hgssskrflrig |

If you know what its called, open task manager and hit the "processes tab*. MAKE SURE you know what you're ending. Lemme know if it helps. Vista usually says what the process is for, so try that. |

That's the problem though. I have no idea what it is or why it's there. hgssskrflrig |

Hmm.... Well, this one's a guess.
Try pressing F5 on your desktop, that refreshes explorer.
If that doesn't work:
Go into task manager, processes, end explorer.exe.
Then go into "Applications", Select "New Task..." and type in "explorer".
See if that works... |

Also, if you know what some of the processes are then you can leave them out of the big picture. If you are willing to solve this problem the long way, you can search the processes that you are aware of. Have you tried restarting your computer?
Do you know what that application is? |

That must be the volume control. I have the same thing and I also have Vista. For the few seconds it's up try clicking on it. You should get a little bar with a speaker by it. |

It wasn't the volume control. Apparently, it was the Dell Quickset. It's been gone for a while now, back in my start bar where it should be. hgssskrflrig |
