No really.

One for people who are.... challenged... in art.

And one for people like Frozen, Nassy, so on, and so forth.

Now, you would be able to pick which one, (the advanced would have a bigger prize, and the people who fail would go to the not so advanced, to get less, but to have a chance.)

Alot of people good at drawing will say no, yoshi thinks. That brings yoshi to a valid point of feedback: It really doesn't affect you much if you're good at drawing. It's not like the people who aren't good would end up beating you, so them having their own little thing shouldn't really be a problem to you. If it affects you somehow, then please post how.

As long as Francis can judge by relating to the user's past artworks, we shouldn't have to do this.

For example, say one person take a HUGE leap forward in their artistic skill. They might not be as good as the best artists on the site, but they've improved much more than the better artist, and put far more work into it. This artist would win, as they have improved, and worked for quite some time on their piece.

Of course, if this isn't happening, there should be an advanced contest as well.

Maybe if we split it into different categories. Art, fan fiction, original stories, ect., it'd be more fair and more fun.

Guess what, I haven't even won the YCOTW contest yet so I really don't think you should be complaining about this just yet.
And I'm not saying this just because I'm a little bit better than some people are at drawing. Who cares about my talent. It's effort that wins a contest, not skill.

Exactly.

And most winners will usually wait for a while before entering again, to give other people a chance to win as well.

I haven't even entered yet, and I don't really feel like being restricted to competitions with only a few other people, anyway.

The point of the contest is that it's for everything. Unless you make a different contest for everything, then it's not fair to people who can't draw or write fanfiction or whatever.

It is fair! I said effort wins a contest, not skill. If someone spent a whole week on a flash movie trying to make it perfect, then it deserves to win the contest more than a drawing that only took 30 minutes to make and isn't that good anyways! And plus, you're lucky that the people here who do have some talent at something are nice and don't submit something the next week after they win. I haven't seen a single person win twice in a row yet. If you want to have your own contest for people who think they aren't good enough yet, go ahead, just go have it somewhere else. Digibutter's YCOTW contest was meant for people who are willing to put all of their effort into something. And it's not my fault if you can't handle losing. If you really wanted to win, you'd keep trying until you win.

Then the people who can't draw but can write fanfiction wouldn't enter the art portion of the contest. >_>

We could keep a grand prize for the best out of all the winners, I suppose.

How about different categories?

Best Drawing/Painting

Best Story

Best Ummm...Computer made art thingy? (I don't know what you would call that)

And so on and so forth. Is this a good idea?
