I just feel completely usually.

Every time I think I'm making progress in a field of creation I seem to come to the inevitable roadblock that keeps me from advancing.

Sure, I guess I can write pretty well, but it's not where my heart lies.

My animation Rain Drops has hit the point where I will most likely never finish it, and I haven't been able to draw anything decent in quite awhile.

I'm even running out of ideas, and that's a big deal for me.

I've never actually asked anyone else, so I don't know if anyone has similar occurences, but this is how I work.

I have a very erratic mind, it is not satisfied with ideas maintaining a norm.

I do not make comics anymore for this reason, keeping any sort of continuity completely breaks me because fans demand it and I *crag* hate doing the same shit over and over.

But now I have come to a point where I have run dry. All I can come up with is old shit I've already done or though of.

I though one day I'd just reach the point when I could think of something and draw it, or compose it, but it seems I will never reach that point.

I mean I could write down ideas, but everyone can do that.

I use to have symphonies dance in my hand, whilst dancing amidst the field of warped creatures that must be from some demented landscape.

But no more.

I'm just a shell of what I used to be, my emotion has run dry.

GAME OVER

I hate to say it, but it's because you are getting older. The boundless creativity we have as children begins to slowly fade away about the time you enter/leave high school. What was once used to create fanciful worlds and creatures gets regulated to impressing girls and making money.

You really have to fight to maintain your creativity. No one will support you IRL, and they may even ridicule you. But it's worth the fight, don't let anyone take it away. I tell people about digibutter and they say "oh that's cool", but really they think it's a waste of time. Most people don't see any value in being creative unless it's popular.

As for comics and other projects, you can't ever win if you do not know where the finish line is or how to get there. You need to define your end-goal first, and then write down the steps it takes to get there. That way your creativity can come in constant bite-sized pieces, instead of expecting it to come all at once in one huge epic chunk.

Don't worry about it. Art blocks happen. I've had ones that have lasted over a month. It'll pass.

Maybe, but I hate other people so I doubt it.

I'm just not one to care about people or what they think of me and my work unless I value their opinion.

And most of the time I don't, even if it's positive.

I think I just need some new inspiration, and I think I may have found some today in fact.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying we are two different people.
