I don't like any of the canidates this year, But heres to hope that someone experience takes the job. I'm a little scared that McCain supports Bush in every way possible, but its not like he'll make the same mistake Bush made. I mean, the chance of us having another war is very little. And I'm sure Bush, or McCain learned from Bush's mistake. Obama seems promising, but is he experienced? Not to my knowledge. Chances are Obama will win the popularity vote, but just because he's popular, doesn't mean he'll be a great president. We need someone who knows what he's doing, not just because he's oh, popular. Its just like digibutter, popular>intelligency or whatever its called. |

I think the whole war situation is too far gone, staying OR leaving is phail, and we never should have gone there in the first place.
I'd have to choose Obama if only because gay rights is an issue that's incredibly important to me. With me being lesbian and all. I'd like to actually get married someday. :/ |

In my opinion, this was a brilliant move by McCain- one of the main gripes against McCain was his age. He now has a young, charismatic VP to back him up. They said that Obama was more in-touch with the working class than McCain was. McCain's right-hand man (In this case, right-hand woman) is deeply in touch with blue collar America.
Now that I think about it, McCain couldn't have made a better choice. She completes his presidency. And, if McCain really is a "Bush 2.0", his VP will probably be pulling the strings, like the previous administration. Of course, this time, we have an intelligent, charismatic speaker, instead of the war-focused, spiteful VP we had with Dick.
Plus, McCain's running mate showed good sportsmanship in her speech- acknowledging the determination of Hillary Clinton, who dropped out not long ago. Not that I like Clinton or anything, but sometimes, good sportsmanship can be helpful. |

This lady sucks!" Also, (this is different) she has almost no experience other than a small town in Alaska with only 6,000 people. That's smaller than Shelburne, Vermont! That KINDA takes away from his "Obama has no experience" thing.

It doesn't matter what they think, now does it? She's a good choice.

And that's the type of official we need in office- one who can relate to the average American. She may not be experienced with foreign policies n' stuff (McCain is), but she has experience with the average, blue-collar American. By doing this, McCain upstaged Obama and his "McCain's out of touch with the average American" statements. |

Also, sorry about this, I'll edit my post later. I forgot to put in that his VP choice KINDA takes away from his "Obama has no experience" thing. |

My view on this:
At least McCain's VP choice is a Governor. He's a senator, and so is Obama and Biden. So McCain easily gets the experience vote. I do like McCain's choice; she can help McCain get the women's vote, and easily get some blue-collar states, namely her homestate of Alaska. She's a maverick just like McCain, and that gets the "X" factor. Obama gets the black vote, and he'll get the Hillary Clinton supporters, too. But, after the RNC (which I am SO watching), McCain will probably be the frontrunner.
BTW, Obama was born in Hawaii, and McCain was born at the Panama Canal. Sarah Palin is from Alaska. Biden...I have no clue where he's from. So, no matter who wins, we'll have either the first black president, the first Hawaiian president, the first Panama-born president, the first Alaskan vice president, the first female vice president, the oldest president, or the 3rd youngest president (after JFK and Teddy Roosevelt!) |

In fact, it means almost nothing, but you're saying that because Obama is black, he's getting all the lack votes and nothing more, and that McCain will get all the women votes because of his VP? No way.
And for the second part, most of those mean nothing at all. And Obama isn't Hawaiian, he was BORN AND RAISED in Hawaii |

It'll be a couple more years before I'm old enough to vote, so I haven't thought about it much. But I will say this; my mother has double standards and it pisses me off. See, my mom wanted to vote for Hillary, because she's been "waiting her whole life for a woman president." But when she heard about McCain's choice for a VP, she said, "What difference does it make if she's a woman? That's just tokenism." She also bashes Palin for being 'inexperienced,' yet she supports Obama. It's like she's just looking for reasons to hate everyone who's not a democrat. Which probably is exactly what she's doing. F'in hippie. |

Simply put...
McCain- Old man who'll bring absolutely nothing new to the USA.
Obama- Has plenty of new ideas. Young and dynamic. Makes a much better president.
So yeah, between the two... Obama for the win. My family's Republican, but I still think Obama's better for the job. |

Plus, if McCain DOES win, which is pretty unlikely, Who'd want a president that had Skin Cancer 3 times? And then if he dies from it or something else (which, in complete honesty, I wouldn't be surprised) Palin would be president. (She actually hasn't won the VP nomination, I don't think she will) How will she have time to raise all her kids, let alone a newborn baby |
