What is shut up then, a better word for be quiet, or a harsher way to say be quiet?

Shut up IS an offensive way to tell someone to be quiet. If its not flame, what is it? A nicer way? haha.
If you wanted him to shut up, why not say, quiet, or silence, or lets stop talking? But no, you proved to me that you are a rude person and just went with shut up.
Show us members good examples of a good member. Shut up is offensive, and I admit, it offends me when I'm told to "Shut Up" instead of a nice, calm be quiet.
You should be nicer, I'm sorry Tessie but you just crossed the line there.
My suggestion? I say add this to the new rule that shut up is considered flame or flame bait, or whatever its called.
I think Tessie should be at least warned or striked for it. I mean honestly, a mod saying shut up is like a teacher saying shut up to a kid. I just had to post this because I was really sad to see a mod to tell someone to "Shut up"
If I was in place of TooManyToaster, I would've been really offended, and take this to a much serious matter via PM Francis.
Hey, call me a wuss or a puss for being offended by a word like Shut up, but keep one thing in mind.
Like everyone else online, you do not know me, so you wouldn't know what I would get offended by. |

I would like to show you the past and see the times when I was a snobby asshole. Remember that? I lost a lot of respects. I learned from my mistakes, and I went back to my old self, the one that everyone loved.

What, are mods exempt from being prosecuted in the court system? Are they suddenly infallible, and any dysfunctions have to go directly to Feedback, along with errs of the site itself? |

no, they are not. Baby Peach chose to bring this up as a potential bigger issue since it did involve a moderator. A normal member would not fall under such scrutiny. |

"Shut up" is not a flame. It's not targeting someone and saying "you deserve to die" or "oh my god you're an idiot".
It's also not a better way of saying be quiet. Anybody who thinks that is mentally challenged.
Why can't you think it's something in between? Is there no such term for something like that?
I say he would still deserve to be striked, though, as just telling somebody to shut up is still rude, just not a flame.  |
