Yeah, it should have it's own topic, because the game owns.
I recently really fell in love with the game. The wide array of characters, and such.... Oh, it's amazing.
Unfortunately, there's no real point in the game after beating Culex (Who isn't that hard if you take one royal syrup, and give toadstool the lazy shell armor.) who I defeated after only three days of play. Sad, isn't it? I wish the game could have been longer, but I could replay it again and again.
The only parts of the game I utterly detested was climbing up to Nimbus land, or jumping across bridges. The perspective is diagonal, thus, its difficult to jump from vine to vine, especially considering the SNES graphics made the vines an optical illusion.
Character-wise, so many characters are very minor, but are so open to things such as fan-fiction, and roleplay. They cramp in all the personallity in a short portion, which is a large plus.
Difficulty..... No, just no. The only bosses that ever killed me were croco the first time (He's way too tough compared to you. I expect to be able to go through, fighting every enemy, and keeping the right level, without going back to train.) then there was Valentina, and Dodo, but I only lost because Dodo brought my characters away from eachother, which was unexpected, then there's czar dragon, whom beat me fair and square, and the penultimate death I ever had was the axem rangers. You have to admit, five people who each do atleast 50 damage are difficult. Last, but not least would be my death against Cloaker, and Domino, whom I had no idea I was going to fight, and was thus unprepared.
NOT EVEN SMITHY OR CULEX KILLED ME.
Ofcourse, I kind of cheated Culex because I had the lazy shell, but that's another thing on the difficulty.
WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU GIVE THE GAME AN ITEM LIKE THAT? It practically makes you invincible. Culex had only one attack that can hurt me, and it was only 50 damage.
Still an amazing game. What are your oppinions? |

My roommate let my friend borrow the game to play on his SNES, and I've seen a little bit of it in action. Only up until Mario gets the hammer and enters the first town. Getting the hammer from Hammer Bros. kinda has this "why didn't anyone think of it before?" brilliance to it. Although I guess this is the first time the hammer's been used as an equipable item.
Anyone have anything to say about Geno and Mallow? I've heard those two are fan favorites, and I'd like to incorporate them in a little . . . project I've been thinking about. |

Geno is the definition of epic. He is a doll who is actually a star from star haven (possibly a starkid who came down to save the world) in the body of a doll that shoots lazer, blasts, and can turn into a cannon to do GENO FLASH! probably the best move in the game. He's also very wise.
Mallow is a cry baby, and when he cries, it rains. He DOES mature, but not by a longshot. |

Yeah, that's pretty much what I inferred about Geno. I've heard some "grand unifying guess" floating around that the "higher authority" he served was none other than Rosalina. Craziness.
Let me put it this way: if there was an "ultimate universe" adaptation distillation of the Mario universe, what highlights would you take from SMRPG? Besides Geno, of course. |

The idea of Bowser fighting alongside Mario plays heavily in my RP on the Ambrosia Software Forums (in the EV Nova Forum - starts around Post 750 in the Warbird Station Bar and Grill, carries through to the Colosseum Bar); in fact, I actually portray him as a good guy (he even has his Drill Claws).
Aside from that, I can't think of much else. |

Geno Whirl is even better. It does the maximum amount of damage possible without hacking the game with it's timed hit addition. |

Geno ftw. Pure, simple, genius. SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN BRAWL, according to the popularity votes.... yet Square was a jerk about it. Go Fig. =P
Oddly enough, this game was the stuff that got me to try Shitake Mushrooms raw... and I loved them. XD
I also loved doing the beetle catching game. |

PLUS, geno flash attacks everyone on the field, making it usefull for more than bosses. |

What's amusing about Culex is that you can ignore his crystals and focus your attacks on him. Once he is defeated, his crystals follow shortly after. |

I'm only at Croc (2) right now. He's CHEAPER than the fist one. Really, when he steals your items it gets a little hard. |

SOmeone made me think the Axem Rangers were hard. D:
I beat the boss before them and I figured there was a save spot before I fought them.
There wasn't.
So the battle started and I was like. "OH NO!" And they were like "OH YEAH." And Iw as like "OOOOH NOOOO." And they were like "OOOOH YEAAAAAH."
Then I kicked their ass.
...>3> So yeah. I just beat them today and all... |

I find the fact that this game is still being debated years after it lost all relevancy to be slightly ironic. |
