The way I see it, I don't know why they haven't made it legal for things like marajuana yet. The government could take in quite a nice chunk of change from taxes on it. Not to mention it would not only help reduce crime rates, but also keep the jails less crowded with more roomfor the people who really deserve to be there. As long as they controlled it like they do with alcohol, it would be a good thing. Not to mention it would lose it's appeal to people who just smoke it for the thrill of it being illegal.

They can't tax marijuana. It's an uncontrolled substance. It grows anywhere.

The rate would be considerably less, since the reason drugs are mostly taken is because they are illegal. Ideally, we don't want as bunch of crack addicts running around the street and some kid accidentally smelling crack.

Your reverse psychology might not be true. Maybe just as many people would start doing drugs BECAUSE they'd be legalized.

Eh, not really.
Most kids just do drugs because
A: Peer pressure
B: Because they make you feel good

I don't think the legality is going to decrease the amount of users.

Then the whole country would start doing them, and eventually fall into chaos.

On the bright side, it would weed out some of the idiots of the world.

Get it, weed? As in drugs? Ha-ha-ha-ha

If that were to happen that'd be AWESOME! Sure everyone would be *crag* over in the head but it's pretty much already like that anyways. Cool

Only the ones that can be salvaged for medical purposes.
I oppose any drug that isn't officially perscribed.

Legalizing it would seriously undermine the governments' message of drugs dangerousness. Just because you cash on it and close your eyes doesn't mean it'll be less addictive, harmful or degrading.

If all drugs were legalized, then we'd have a spontaneous growth of dealing, drug-related deaths, followed by a massive surge in the industry. Civilization and culture would totally change, and even collapse or war could be possible when people go bats over their increasing addiction and psychosis. Violence would rise, conventional industries suffer, and generally the sh*t would hit the fan.

First of all, everyone would buy it like they wanted, and nobody would care aobut the government restrictions still in action - teens regularly go binge drinking, which is harmful enough, and the addicition and danger qualities of such substanced are far larger.

Second, use and addiction would become widespread.

Generally, those substances are dangerous. Legalizing drugs would be akin to getting rid of gun control and selling them in dispensers - chaos.

Compare it to illegal downloading - if that was made legal, society would do a bellyflop. Also, its illegal and even so lots of people do it. If it was legal, it'd be far wider spread, and there'd be no controlling it.

It's going to crush the drug empire because people can get it readily available instead of going through a dealer who goes through some drug lord.

I support it.

Are you crazy ? It wouldn't crush it, it would buff it. The druglords could come out of their sleazy back alleys etc. and be legal gentlemen.

Why would legalization mean the downfall of the establish, though illegal, ways of obtaining narcotics ?
