I don't get offended if someone calls me white, and I see nothing wrong with calling darker-skinned people black. Asians don't seem to like it when you call them yellow, though. |

This is how it should be:
Anyone that's a US citizen, regardless of being born in a different country/colored skin= American
Anyone who's an officsl African citizen regardless of country of origin/skin color= African
Anyone who's an offical Asian citizen ""= Asian
Anyone who's an offical European citizen ""= European
And so on and so on. |

Francine wrote: | What about dual citizenship? | Dual citizenship? You mean like someone who's an Asian citizen then immigrated to the US and became a US citizen? I dunno seeing it's my mom's idea. I guess you would call them by the recent citizenship they got. In my example, it would be American.
@CFH: It would then be from what country their from, like New Zealand or Ploynesia

I can get dual Philippines - US citizenship because of my parents' birthplace. You don't know anything about citizenship laws, so that method is completely unreliable. |

Maybe the term " "-American should only be used for immigrants, or those who hold dual citizenships. |

But I get the idea and I like it. |
