(M'aiq is going to start overthinking some random things in games every so often. If this belongs elsewhere, feel free to move it)

So at the end of Castle Crashers, you encounter the undead Cyclops and his master. When you defeat them, they are both crushed by the usual treasure chest, and like a certain boss in Zelda, they are shown as angels going to heaven. Here's the question: Why?

So this is where the 'overthought' begins. It's very likely that they were never evil to begin with. In fact, the Castle Crashers were probably evil to them. First, let me list a few things to take note of, which portrays the probable turn of events. Bolded is the stuff that actually happens in the game.

Before the game begins:
Prince Conehead(as I'll now call him) had a best friend, the Cyclops. They did alot together, like fishing, as seen in the pictures in the Cyclops fortress. It's possible that they considered themselves to be brothers, actually. When the prince came to power in his kingdom, he knew that having a Cyclops waltzing around his palace wouldn't give him a very good reputation, so he had a fortress built on the nearby volcano for his friend. The only people that possibly knew of the Cyclops were his trusted knights. Still, the Prince regularly visited his 'brother', and things were going good: his kingdom was prospering, there was a bountiful harvest, and so on...

Now this is where the game begins, this should probably be put in list format:
-Gem stolen, Princesses abducted.
-The evil wizard discovers the Cyclops' fortress, meets with him and offers one of the princesses. The Cyclops thinks that his brother can finally become king if he were to wed, and heads to the appointed location. Since it'll take him through town, he wears a large cloak.
-The evil wizard's REAL intent: To cause war between his enemy and their potential ally. Wiping at least one of them out would make his work much easier.
-Castle Crashers reach the Tall Grass Field
-Cyclops waits for the thieves with the princess, a stange icy fellow appears, they perhaps exchange a few words while they wait.
-The princesses are handed off just before they get there
-The Cyclops hurries back through the cave. Since it's likely he has a carriage, it explains how he got there long before the Crashers did.
-The Cyclops brings the princess to Prince Conehead and tells him what's going on, Prince Conehead rejoices at this opportunity. With the title of king, he can perhaps expand his boundaries in the world. He plans a wedding immediately.(Plus, he's probably attracted to her anyway, since the princesses are supposed to be the fairest in the land)
-Castle Crashers arrive at the Flowery Field. The sound of combat with the bees and Beekeepers put some of the guards on alert.
-The Cyclops gets a case of diahrea, explaining why he's in the toilet. He's probably the one who will wed those two since there appears to be no priest.
-The invasion begins. the guards attempt to fight off these sudden, violent intruders.
-The princess is so frightened by everything that has happened that she can't speak. Prince Conehead shrugs off her shivering as mere anticipation and excitement. He's dressed in his finest tuxedo, as well.
-Castle Crashers bust through the window, smash the cake.
-Prince Conehead is afraid that these invaders are here to kidnap his bride-to-be. When she manages to yell out "HELP!", he thinks she's looking to him for protection from these fiends. He calls every available guard to their defense as he flees to the back of the chapel.
-Cyclops is still on the toilet...
-Guards defeated, they catch up to Prince Conehead.
-Prince Conehead decides that he has to fight to protect his bride, so he begins to attack.
-He is slain, and the Cyclops emerges from the bathroom to find his brother laying on the ground, dead. He begins to mourn briefly, but decides that it's not the best time with these strange intruders here. He takes the body and the princess and leaves.
-Parade.

-Now inside his fortress, the Cyclops sticks the princess in a cage so he can be sure she doesn't abandon the funeral. He begins to mourn woefully for his brother before finally planning to put the coffin in the lava.
-Castle Crashers find the Cyclops' Fortress, begin their assault.
-Cyclops is too busy mourning to care.
-They reach the Cyclops. The Cyclops notices them, and his sorrow is replaced with rage. He sees his chance to avenge his master by killing these vile invaders.
-Cyclops defeated, he falls into the lava.
-The wizard and the Necromancer believe that the Cyclops still has some use, so they soon revive him.

-The Cyclops did not want to be brought back without his master, and his remaining conciousness refused to work with them. The Necromancer brings his master back to life to shut him up and make him obedient. The Cyclops is overjoyed by this, and the wizard's promise of another fight with his brother's murderers. The heat inside the coffin has burned long burned Prince Conehead's face off and caused the metal on his helmet to shrivel.
-Much later, the Castle Crashers arrive at the Wizard's Castle and defeat the Cyclops again. This time, since their bodies were ultimately crushed, their spirits are finally released. They go to heaven together in peace, with their recent troubles finally at an end.
-(not going to include a bit about Prince Conehead's ghost being at the end of the game's party, since everything else there is more or less a joke)

Actually, I think the game implies that the Cyclops was the father of the Conehead Groom.

Other than that, they really are just victims of war.

Wow. This raises the question of where the wizard got all his other henchmen, too, like the Barbarians. He could have turned them against the kingdom and taken the chance to steal the crystal, but the guy from Industrial Castle obviously had something to do with it, since you see some barbarians and thieves handing off a princess to him near the forest.
This is actually kinda fun. I still wish the story didn't leave so much to the imagination, though.

Like how the hell the second and penultimate boss from Alien Hominid made it to the medievil times, aswell as the Hominid himself.

Theories that aliens have been visiting mankind throughout all ages are probably referenced in the game.

Main one used: Aliens built the pyramids.

Doesn't explain the Install Orb(the green eye), which was made by the Government of 'present day' Earth.

Didn't you actually say something about how the big one is possibly the original Hominid?

It would explain why the Install Ball was hidden on the ship.

I actually thought that the Cyclops was a girl and that she though tof that Conehead has her son or something.

This works too though.
