What's the best generation of Pokémon in your opinion? In my opinion, it's the second one, Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal.

EDIT: L.O.L. in talk like a pirate day, it says "Pokémon booty"

Haha, pirate-talk made Pokemon Gold into Pokemon Booty. XD

Anyway, the 2nd generation takes the cake as the best.

Gold. All the way. The next two generations suck compared to it.

Silver was awesome. The pokemon were still awesome, and you got to go back to Jhoto( Or is it Kanto? There are too many regions now I forget. ) in the game!

Gold was my most favorite of the generations... and the last one I actually liked.

Hah. Pokemon Gold. Pirate speak. Win.

Gameplay wise, I like the 4th gen. Pokemon wise, I'd have to go for second.

IMO, Gen 2 sucked. (Too many tanks)

Gen 1 was good.

Gen 3 was a bit to offensive for my liking...

Gen 4, my favorite, has just the right balance.

Well, the second gen didn't have THAT many tanks... I can only name a few, with the exception of legendaries, which are in every generation.

As for the third... bleck, it was just yucky. And the fourth was indeed an amazing balance of everything, and the Pokemon weren't bad, either. Several favorites of mine came out of it.

I could'nt decide between 3 and 4. But 4 eventually came out on top. The only reason I like those better than 2 is:
1. easier to do things (especially in pc boxes)
2. more pokes (inculding almost all of my favorites)
3. more challenging battles
4. lots of new moves
5. abilities
6. introduction of ghost/dark combination

There's a lot more reasons.

Don't get me wrong, gen II was great and all, but in my opinion, they got better with age.

And before someone comes in here and goes ranting about "oh no yer wrong 2nd gen is the best you suck", I'm simply stating my opinion. Please respect that.

And I'm by no means saying all your opinions are wrong. Cuz they're not.

All of my favourite Pokemon came from gen 1 and gen 2.

After that, I lost all faith in the games.

Then: Original, nice-looking Pokemon.

Now: OMG LET'S MAKE A HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE POKEMON!

That sums my feelings up.

I do agree with the bolded statement. The many Rotoms were a horrible idea. Rotom is better than all of the others combined.

EDIT: stupid bold tags wont work.

I agree with G&W.

How come he is the only person here who doesn't say "2 is best all others suck"? Why does everyone here like 2 the best? I don't see what's so awesome about it.

I have had Blue, Yellow, Gold, Ruby, Leafgreen, Emerald, Diamond, and Pearl. They were all good in their own respects, but I say that 3 and 4 are far superior. They have lots of new features, and have simplified many things that were previously major annoyances.

So, again I say, WHAT MAKES GEN II BETTER THAN THE OTHERS?

The Pokémon don't suck, it has an awesome map, and you can play 2 regions.
